In many disaster scenarios, such as high magnitude earthquakes or tsunamis, existing communication infrastructure could be rendered inoperable. This creates the need for additional disaster relief solutions. The most optimum solution to this issue is a long-range, batter-powered sensor network which could be deployed quickly and easily.
