Design and Development of Configurable Modeling Package for Active Power Filter
With the development of active power filters(APFs), various technical schemes, topological structures and control schemes have been involved in the modeling process, which will bring a great burden to the simulation analysis. In order to conduct APF simulation with higher efficiency, a configurable packaging modeling method for the topology structures and control strategies of APF is developed. First, several topologies of APF as well as their corresponding control strategies are studied and modeled with PSCAD-EMTDC. Then, configurable modeling packages of power grid, load with harmonic current injection and APF are proposed and developed respectively. Finally, a series of simulation studies on the aforementioned modelling packages are implemented. Simulation results show that the APF packaging module matches the functional characteristics of the device and can compensate the harmonic current in the system. APF encapsulation module can significantly improve the modeling efficiency of simulation studies. Researchers can analyze the effects and characteristics of APFs when connected to a system without having to focus too much on technical details of the APF circuit topology and control strategy.
