The local opal trader was unconcerned about people's safety or the diversion of mining resources. The new opal deposit was discovered in the village of Wegel Tena. Unlike previous Ethiopian opals, the new material is mostly white, with a little brown opal, fire opal, and a colorless \"crystal\" opal thrown in for good measure.
