MS medium with combin- ation of 1.5mg/l BAP + 0.1mg/l NAA gave optimum rate of axillary bud induction. The in vitro shoot were cultured on MS medium with different concentration of BAP (0.1–3.0 mg/l) alone or in combination with NAA (0.1-1.5mg/l) and supplemented with sucrose at 3% level was the best for the growth and development of shoots.
