Designing Remote Control of Medical Bed Based on Human Factors
Recent years, with the development of medical conditions, adopting the principles from human factors engineering has become a new requirement in medical field. It can improve human performance with medical devices, reduce the potential for error and consequently improve patient safety. Furthermore, the importance of human-machine operation becomes increasingly visible in a clinical environment. As a typical representative of controller, the remote control of operating bed is widely applied to the medical operation. Therefore, the remote control similarly puts more and more emphasis on the user experience and humanized design. This is conducive not only to adjusting the patient's positioning for a surgical procedure efficiently, but also to reducing operating difficulties and raising user's satisfaction. This article takes an in depth look at the application characteristics of remote control and analyses the key pain points in medical operation combined human-machine engineering methods. Ultimately, the paper provides a well-defined framework of guidelines and principles for designing remote control of medical bed.
