This paper presents the most common types of non-idealities, along with their usual and improved methods of compensation. By transforming the measured variables to the synchronous reference frame, a static delay compensation which cancels non-ideal cross-coupling at high-speed is presented. Improvement of the DC bus disturbance rejection with a current perturbation control loop is proposed. A less known non-ideality with regard to drives, namely quantization of the duty cycle is presented along with its compensation.
