PALEOGEOGRAPHY OF THE SUKHANSK SEDIMENTARY BASIN BASED ON PALEOMAGNETIC DATA OF KHATYSPYT FORMATION (VENDIAN OF OLENEK UPLIFT)
The present work is about reconstruction of the paleogeographic position of the Sukhansk sedimentary basin of the Siberian platform for a time interval of 560–550 million years ago on the basis of a paleomagnetic record. A promising object for this researche is the Khatyspyt Formation, because Vendian age of this formation is valid, the rocks are practically not deformed and did not undergo chemical changes. The position of the Sukhansk sedimentary basin at the time of the accumulation of the Khatyspyt Formation match to 38,8° southern latitude according to the results of studying the component composition of magnetization.
