Its main goal is to screen newborns for hearing. This examination is performed on the 2-3 days of a child's life, and in addition, information is collected on the risk factors for the development of hearing loss. In total, 486 centers participate in PPPBSuN at three reference levels. By the end of 2021, 7 million children were registered in the PPPBSuN Central Database. The most common type of hearing loss in children was bilateral sensorineural hearing loss, diagnosed in 2021 in 160 children.
