Malarias caused by Plasmodium that commonly infects female Anopheles mosquitoes, which feed on human blood and act as a disease vector. It has been a worldwide important public health problem from ancient times. Also, malaria is one of the infectious diseases with the longest epidemic time and the most serious harm in the history of Henan Province, China. During the past decades, the multi-sectoral, cross-regional, and multi-disciplinary One Health approach contributed to a significant reduction in malaria incidence, resulting in initiation of the Henan Malaria Elimination Action Plan. Herein, we reviewed the history of the fight against malaria in Henan Province.
