为推动实现世界卫生组织提出的“到2030年消除病毒性肝炎这一重大公共卫生威胁”的目标，中国肝病学会联合中国传染病学会（均为中华医学会分会）组织专家组，更新了《中国慢性乙型肝炎防治指南》（2022年版）。在现有证据的支持下，本次指南修订侧重于积极预防、大规模检测和扩大慢性乙型肝炎的治疗指征，目的是减轻乙型肝炎相关疾病负担。
