A successful PSRS special issue and Spine across the globe

We are proud to announce that we have received more than 10 manuscripts (original and review articles) from the last, extremely successful, Philadelphia Spine Research Symposium. We would like to thank the organizers of the special issue submission process (especially Lachlan Smith) and all the scientists that contributed to such scientific assemblage and for believing, supporting, and considering JOR Spine as the main vehicle of their research effort. The whole collection of these manuscripts will be published in either the September or December volume of JOR Spine.

Staying within the research conference mode, it was really nice to see many ORS Spine Section members giving their presentations at Spine Week 2023, in Melbourne. It was a full schedule of clinical and research activities, with all the major spine societies holding their programs over a few days. The choice of what to attend at any one time, clinical or basic science of the spine, was for sure not lacking, but difficult to make.

It being the beginning of summer, we would like to remind the early career investigators to start thinking about submitting your most recent and best work to the 2023 JOR Spine Early Career Award by this coming October. This annual award will for sure help you gain visibility within the spine community and it would be a pity not to apply.

Last, but not least, we are approaching the next announcement of the journal Impact Factor. Although, other metrics are increasingly being used to evaluate the strength and impact of a journal, the IF remains an important metric. In this context, we hope to consolidate and confirm last year's first one!
