In fact, if viewed from the point of view of mental health science, the natural growth and development process experienced by children can be disrupted due to the use of gadgets, including children's emotional development. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the duration of playing gadgets on children's emotional development. The research design used correlation analytic with cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all children aged 1 -5 years in the Children's Room, Mojowarno Hospital, a total of 34 children with purposive sampling technique obtained a sample of 32 respondents. The research instrument is a questionnaire on the duration of the use of gadgets and a Questionnaire for Mental Emotional Problems, the data were analyzed by Spearman Rho Test. The results showed that most of the children used gadgets in the moderate category (60-120 minutes) a day, namely 19 children (69.4%), almost all children did not experience emotional development disorders, namely 28 children (87.5%). The results of the analysis with the Spearman Rho test showed that p-value = 0.001 or less than (0.05) and r-value = - 0.552 so that there was a relationship between the duration of using gadgets and the emotional development of children at Mojowarno Christian Hospital where the longer they use gadgets, the more they experience children's emotional development disorders. This was because by using gadgets excessively, children would lack empathy and concern for the surrounding environment, sometimes children cry and got angry for no reason if their wishes are not obeyed, especially if they asked to play gadgets. It was hoped that health workers could provide direction or education to parents who had toddlers on how to wisely introduce gadgets to children","PeriodicalId":92053,"journal":{"name":"International journal of social science research","volume":"35 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84009705","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the determinants of family size in the Narail district of Bangladesh. The samples of 100 respondents were selected through simple random sampling and interviewed with a semi-structured interview schedule. The bivariate analyses were performed using chi-square and correlation tests to explore the possible association between family size and selected covariates. The OLS (Ordinary Least Square) model was considered to know the marginal effects of independent variables. Results show that more than half of the households (54.2% to be exact) were small (had four or fewer members) in size. Besides, age, family income, educational status, number of living children, number of desired children, sex preferences, contraceptive use, family planning and residence were linked with the size of the family (p < .005) as potential socio-economic and cultural factors. In addition, the age at first marriage and religion has no impact on specifying the family size.","PeriodicalId":92053,"journal":{"name":"International journal of social science research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46616802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

High triglyceride levels (hypertriglyceridemia) are a risk for coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus. Efforts that can be made to reduce hypertriglyceridemia is to reduce the number of meals with the shof diet (sixteen hours of fasting). During fasting triglycerides will be mobilized to produce energy or synthesized into glucose. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of the shof diet on reducing triglyceride levels in overweight adolescents. The research design used the Pre-Experiment One Group Pretest-Postest Design with a population of all female students of the Faculty of Health Sciences who experienced overwight as much as 25. The number of samples was 20 with a sampling technique using purposive sampling. The research instrument uses an observation sheet. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a P value ≤ α (α = 0.05). The results showed that the value of P = 0.646, which means that there was no effect of the shof diet on reducing triglyceride levels. However, in terms of quantity, there was a decrease in triglyceride levels in most of the respondents. The shof diet can reduce triglyceride levels by controlling food consumption during the fasting window.","PeriodicalId":92053,"journal":{"name":"International journal of social science research","volume":"29 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78204916","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
