{"title":"[Effectiveness of chlormezanone and flunitrazepam in treatment of difficult children].","authors":"J Gamonal Aravena","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><p>Out of a total of 366 preschoolers, aged 3-5 years old, from the urban area of Curacautín, a sample of 46 children is selected using a behavioral classification to choose those children difficult to manage. A double-blind type investigation is realized using a posology of the drugs: Chlormezanone and Flunitrazepam as well as a placebo. The distribution of the doses is in accordance with the so called \"Latin Table\". The results obtained indicate that both drugs are effective, with a 90.6% success rate case of Chlormezanone and 92.8% effectiveness in the case of Flunitrazepam. We used occlusal splints and dentures that allowed the stabilization of intermaxillary relations in centric areas when it was harmonized the maximum intercuspidation and the muscular centric position. In this work we attempt to describe quantitatively the \"chelation process\" and pH evolution of the quelator solution in-vitro inside the teeth during the reaction. These results indicate that Ca++ coming from hydroxyapatite release protons from EDTAH under neutral conditions. This is the most likely mechanism of the \"self-limitation\". Furthermore, it allow us to explain why EDTA Im and EGTA Im were more efficient than EDTA Na and EGTA Na upon demineralizing the tooth. It occurs mainly on posterior mandible and affecting patients aged between second and third decade. This paper calls about an unusual case on a 57 years-old female patient. It appeared after extraction of lower bicuspid tooth.
