It is the result of a wider, interdisciplinary study – sponsored by MOBARTECH, an Italian research project – aimed at the co-construction of knowledge to foster understanding and interpretation of the cultural landscape from the point of view of the local community. The project led to the creation of a toolkit for citizens and tourists in which sound was the protagonist of several activities. Here we critically present insights and reflections on heritage, landscape and the sound in education.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41382378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the first part I explain what the expression “physical theatre” can mean, then I focus on the issue of space in theatre, before devoting a section to some peculiarities of site-specific approaches to the performing arts. The next step is to take into consideration certain aspects of the sound dimension in theatre, before outlining considerations that can help to start an exploration of a theatre of sounds that promotes new spaces for a real dialogue of this art with society.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48055849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Walks are mostly performed in silence at different times and unpredictable urban paths for participants. This practice, not always performed following the tradition of Acoustic Ecology, has become particularly important in recent years, and often carried by artistic fields related to the creation of environmental compositions, both generative and interactive. In this context, Senesi uses her listening walks as case studies to open up multiple perspectives of space and critical listening, as well as its auditive aesthetics to reflect upon author’s soundwalking strategies with feedback from participant’s experiences from the last six years.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48879881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In other words, when there is osmosis between subject and object in terms of our observing, touching, breathing and listening to the same. Contemporaneously, the diminished attention paid to information provided by acoustic perception has had the effect of generating a propensity for looking rather than listening. The contribution intends to illustrate the soundscape of Campania through the tammurriata. It is not just one of the many forms of popular music expression, but the dance contains the focal points of a complex experience of collective participation, resulting in a significant tool for territorial knowledge, capable of promoting alternative forms of tourism and sense of community.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44357066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In questo lavoro si presentano immagini di plastigomerati fotografati a Villavicencio, in Colombia. In questo caso specifico, questo tipo di sedimento è frutto della combustione di buste di polietilene di bassa densità (LDPE), che vengono usate per coprire e proteggere il frutto del platano. Una volta usate e scartate, le buste di plastica vengono bruciate e sotterrate nelle zone vicine alle piantagioni.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48318674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Largely animated by indigenous groups, these conflicts have often been interpreted as instances of commons. My essay, however, shows how they trouble understandings of the commons as form of social cooperation that includes the shared care of natural resources. Unlike Western approaches to the commons that cast land and water as ecosystems transformed through human action, political movements in Latin America consider these other-than-human entities as part of political collectives. Examining the encounter between the commons and indigenous politics, this article argues for the possibility of alliance across differences that can only arise from a radical reassessment of the commons’ aspirations for universalism.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42630457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A theoretical and critical discussion is held based on political ecology and an overview of access to water and the sewage network is presented, according to data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics. Qualitative analysis of the data shows that access is inefficient for the majority of the population in the periphery and indicates the need for further observation on the quality of water and sewage services. Another highlight is the need for greater reflection on the sector’s privatization, since water cannot be treated as a commodity, but as an essential right for the populations.","PeriodicalId":52751,"journal":{"name":"Geography Notebooks","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44537574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
