The goal is to minimize the makespan. The resource constraint can be defined as a mold. This constraint is also defined as jobs with conflict. Two jobs can’t be executed by the two machines simultaneously. The problem is proved to be a non-deterministic polynomial NP-hard one. Different heuristics have been proposed in this paper to solve the studied problem. A novel meta-heuristics algorithm is developed to enhance the proposed heuristics. The computational results and discussions show the performance of the proposed solutions. A different class of instances is implemented to test the proposed heuristics. The results show that the developed heuristics reaches the optimal solution in 96.4% of instances. Therefore, the obtained results represent near- optimal solutions for the studied problem.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45321582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to check its robustness, the use of the WISP method with square root and sum normalization procedures is discussed in this article. In order to check the similarity of the obtained results, several analyzes were performed using the Python programming language, where the similarity of the obtained results was checked using the cosine similarity measure. The similarity was also checked concerning the results obtained using prominent MCDM methods. The achieved results confirm the significant similarity of the results obtained using the WISP method with the results obtained using the selected MCDM methods, even in the case of using square rot or sum normalization procedures.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42381153","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The traditional methods for predicting the future trajectories of surrounding cars involved complex motion models and patterns, complex maneuvers or physical models of the car trajectories. More recent works aim to predict the future car positions by using deep learning and neural networks. In this paper, video generation models were employed, which provide an estimation of the future frames related to the car positions based on an existing video and can obtain the position of the selected cars by employing an object detection algorithm along with additional information obtained by a segmentation module that uses a semantic segmentation network. The results were validated by employing the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) metric in order to predict the locations of the surrounding cars and estimate their depth. Apparently, this approach has never been implemented in order to obtain the trajectory and the future position of the surrounding cars in autonomous driving.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45798084","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ascending trend for Internet data, has made clear the necessity of defining and engineering innovative solutions for coping with redundant transfers, which led to performing smart data transfers for obtaining an increased throughput, data availability and resource utilization and implicitly to a cost reduction and to avoiding bottlenecks and denial of service issues. Internet data employed by an Internet user must be consistent, so distributed systems are gaining research interest with regard to concurrency control, atomic transfers, data replication and synchronization, compression and decompression, correction or other potential problems. Two different versions of a file have a high similarity and as synchronization is concerned, the delta between the second version and the initial version of the file applied to its initial version will provide a better transfer throughput, thus an efficient data deduplication technique is necessary and worth analyzing in order to minimize the cost of synchronization. This paper focuses on optimizing the bandwidth utilization for remote data synchronization, and proposes a prototype based on three classic open-source data compression methods. The experiments carried out show how these compression utilities along with the transfer of data perform the synchronization of large data sets between two remote sites and how the use of compression helps to reduce the data size on storage devices along with decreasing the network bandwidth significantly. The novelty of this paper lies in the fact that it combines two different compression algorithms in order to provide better compression rates.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48370466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite the high simplicity of the basic framework of the JFO with substantial features in intensifying and exploring the search space, it needs further assistance in improving its searching ability. The suggested QRJFO creates a uniformly chosen cluster inside the jellyfish population. It represents a shared network that exchanges knowledge in a cluster which is distinct from everyone else. Furthermore, the discovery process is facilitated by the advent of the learning strategy of QR points. The efficiency of the suggested methodology is measured by implementing it on IEEE 30 bus-system. The simulation outputs display the solution effectiveness and the applicability of the suggested QRJFO relative to JFO as well as other documented implementations.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47222381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on this autonomous mobile robot-type UGV, it is possible to quickly detect people who show signs of infection with COVID-19. In order to address these problems, investigative equipment (for 3D perception, mapping, navigation, thermal scanning, thermal imaging, detection of facial expressions and of the presence or absence of masks, etc.), as well as behavioral control work were considered on complex scenarios, initially generated online and then by introducing random obstacles. The obtained results showed that the use of mobile robots for special purposes is thus an excellent solution, both for reducing the exposure of medical personnel to the virus, and for increasing the capacity to identify, analyse and warn about the observance of the protection protocols against COVID-19.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68925665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The advanced technological tools used during the pandemic have altered communication, employee motivation, and the employees` desire for personal connectivity. The main objective of this paper is to analyse the effect of professional isolation on the teleworker's job performance, motivation, and turnover intention. This study also considers the moderating role of the access to information and communications technology. In this context, a survey was carried out among the employees from the telecommunications/ IT sector in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, Pakistan and 478 complete/usable responses were received and analysed. In this paper, the MACRO PROCESS computational procedure was employed. A confirmatory factor analysis was carried out, along with an analysis on Pearson correlation, internal consistency reliability, discriminant validity of the variables employed in this study, and hierarchical moderated regression analysis with the purpose of testing six hypotheses. The obtained results show that there is a negative relationship between professional isolation and the employees` job performance and motivation. On the other hand, professional isolation is positively associated with turnover intention. To that, professional isolation and the access to communication-enhancing technology (ACET) significantly affect employee job motivation.","PeriodicalId":49466,"journal":{"name":"Studies in Informatics and Control","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":1.6,"publicationDate":"2021-12-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45811469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"计算机科学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
