IEC 60364 standard also recommends this method because it yields an approximate but a fairly reliable solution using a scientific calculator. Cosθ and sinθ terms of the complex line current are included in the ‘Equivalent resistance method’, however, the authors found out that there is an overlapping calculation between the magnitude of line current and its values of cosθ, sinθ. This paper proposes a modified formula in which the cosθ and sinθ terms included in the conventional formula are eliminated. An example calculation for a distribution line with two load points is illustrated to compare the results by modified formula with those by conventional formula, by which we can see the effectiveness of the proposed formula. To verify the effective operation of three-phase transformer type SFCL using secondary windings with non-isolation, the unsymmetrical ground and the symmetrical ground faults were applied into three-phase power simulated system with the suggested SFCL. It takes into account the levels of six air pollutants and expresses them in four levels and colors. “Good” is blue, “normal” is green, “poor” is yellow, and “very poor” is red. This paper proposes using IoT lighting control to indicate air quality. Furthermore, it provides information on the CAI of all areas in Seoul through a webpage. This paper proposes an AI-based state discriminator for the electric motor system to improve the existing EOCR into a smart EOCR by adding the predictive maintenance function of the CLOUD environment. Firstly, the smart EOCR based motor system is introduced. Next, five state learning data sets collected from the motor system are constructed. After designing a state discriminator with DNN (Deep Neural Network), a widely used AI technique, and implementing it using the Python language. The multiwavelength filter consists of a polarization beam splitter(PBS), two polarization-maintaining fiber(PMF) segments of the same length(∼7.12m), a wave retarder combination of a half-wave retarder(HWR) and a quarter-wave retarder(QWR), and another wave retarder combination of two QWRs, forming a polarization-diversity loop. The theoretical transmittance function of the filter was derived using the Jones matrix formulation. For an ASTS obtained at a specific set of orientation angles of the four wave retarders, we identified the wave retarder orientation angles that allowed the ASTS to be continuously shifted. Wavelength tuning was implemented by shifting all polarization states on the output polarization trace of the second PMF in the direction of wavelength decrease. From the identified sets of the wave retarder orientation angles, we calculated eight transmission spectra whose wavelengths were tuned by 0.1nm. However, due to economic and environmental issues, it is imperative to enhance the utilization of renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic(PV) and wind turbine(WT). Nevertheless, renewable energy sources have intermittent characteristics, which can lead to problems such as reverse flow, voltage fluctuations, and exceeding current limits. In general, energy storage systems(ESS) can solve these issues. This paper presents a power sharing control algorithm between diesel generator and ESS to control the net load variation in stand-alone microgrids. The proposed method dynamically adjusts the power sharing ratio based on the magnitude and sign of net load variation and the state of charge(SOC) of the ESS. This allows the SOC of the ESS to be maintained within the allowable range, enabling the proper sharing of power output between the diesel generator and the ESS. The comb filter is based on a polarization-diversity loop structure composed of a polarizing beam splitter, two equal-length segement of polarization-maintaining fiber(PMF), dual 1/4 waveplates located before one PMF segment, and a set of 1/2 waveplate and 1/4 waveplate positioned before the other PMF segment. Using the Jones calculus, we formulated the transfer matrix of the filter and draw out the filter transmittance function through this formulation. For a GCS obtained at a specific set of azimuth angles of the four waveplates, we found the waveplate azimuth angles that allowed the GCS to be continuously wavelength-tuned. These waveplate angle sets for the continuous wavelength tuning were identified using the relationship between the filter transmittance and the spectral evolution of the output polarization of the second PMF. This system integrates an offline UPS, which is composed of bidirectional inverters and a battery converter, with an LVDC system consisting of a DC-DC converter. The LVDC system is designed to produce LVDC output by sharing the UPS’s DC LINK, thus The LVDC system offers the advantage of compensating for power outages. Moreover, the proposed system has an ESS function that can distribute peak load through load leveling.
