Assessing and analyzing the current level of high-quality economic development can provide guiding recommendations for future economic transformation and high-quality growth. This research constructs an evaluation index system for high-quality economic development based on panel data from Henan Province spanning from 2006 to 2021. The entropy weight method combined with the TOPSIS model is utilized to determine the weights of each indicator and to assess the level of high-quality economic development in Henan Province; a coupling coordination model is employed to analyze the degree of coupling and coordination among its subsystems; and a barrier degree model is applied to identify the main obstacles to high-quality economic development in Henan Province. The study finds that (1) the proportion of technology market turnover has the most significant impact on high-quality economic development, while the revenue sharing level has the least. (2) During the research period, both the level of high-quality economic development in Henan Province and the subsystems of economic structure, innovation drive, regional coordination, and social welfare have shown an upward trend. (3) The coupling coordination degree of the subsystems increases at a rate of approximately 9% per year. (4) The obstacle degree of the economic stability, regional coordination, and infrastructure subsystems is on the rise, while that of the economic structure, opening up level, and social welfare subsystems is decreasing. (5) The inhibitory effects of the urban–rural income coordination level, the coordination level of urban and rural consumption, the community service level, the global unemployment rate, and the global trade level have intensified since 2017. Based on the aforementioned research findings, this paper proposes a series of policy recommendations. Poverty, climate change, and resource limitations threaten food production and access. Information and communication technology (ICT) provides a variety of techniques to increase food security. This research examines ICT’s effect on food security by regulating CO<sub>2</sub> emissions, energy use, and economic growth in South Asian (SA) nations. It takes panel data from 1997 to 2021 and applies the 2nd generation unit root and Westerlund cointegration tests. For this reason, it is necessary to use 2nd generation Westerlund cointegration tests and the “Dumitrescu-Hurlin (D-H) causality test” to ensure the validity of the “Second-generation estimation technique(s) the Driscoll and Kraay method.” The outcomes of the bootstrap cointegration test support the existence of long-run cointegration. The Driscoll and Kraay results show a symmetric relationship between ICT and food security, linked to higher CO2 emissions, whereas economic growth and renewable energy consumption increase the latter. As a result of the significant positive stimulus it has on food security, developing ICT is vital to raising food security in South Asian countries. The results from the Driscoll and Kraay estimates are consistent with those from the GLS, proving the Driscoll and Kraay results are reliable. The D-H causality also confirms the GLS and Driscoll and Kraay results. To enhance environmental quality and food security, governments can fund green ICT R&D. This paper studies the impact of common institutional ownership on corporate deleveraging behavior from the perspective of leverage manipulation. The study shows that common institutional ownership can significantly inhibit corporate leverage manipulation and that managerial myopia and internal control quality play negative and positive moderating roles in the above relationship, and its mechanism is mainly to alleviate the degree of financing constraints, reduce the degree of information asymmetry, and then play the governance efficacy of common institutional ownership. It is further found that the governance effect of common ownership is more significant in the sample of firms after the implementation of the “deleveraging” policy, in the sample of non-state-owned firms, in the sample of firms without directors’ liability insurance, and in the sample of firms with weaker managerial competence. The economic consequence test shows that common institutional ownership improves investment efficiency and reduces risk-taking by constraining leverage manipulation. Its underemployment rate is over 21% and exceeds 40% in some countries. This article analyzes the role of underemployment in the relationship between human capital and economic growth in 30 Sub-Saharan Africa countries, from 2008 to 2019. We use the double least squares method, the triple least squares method, and the seemingly unrelated regression equation method applied on panel data. The results indicate that the positive effect of human capital on economic growth diminishes as the level of underemployment increases. Nevertheless, innovation moderates the link between underemployment and economic growth. The findings also reveal that economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa countries depends significantly on their political and economic institutions. Indeed, better governance and timely investments in health (maternal and child health, immunization and nutrition) and education (free school meals, school fee exemptions) would enable Sub-Saharan Africa countries to enhance human development, which is a source of long-term economic growth. Reducing youth underemployment must be the biggest challenge in Sub-Saharan Africa countries. Avocado farmers in the study area made a contract agreement with the Savando avocado oil processing company, which is part of the Yirgalem agro-processing industry. The main aim of this research was to look at the factors influencing avocado producers’ decision to participate in contract farming and how it would affect their income, using data collected from 413 avocado producers in Dale district, Sidama region, Ethiopia. The cross-sectional research design and multi-stage sampling procedure were used to choose the study’s representative sample. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and propensity score matching model. The findings of this study indicated that the age of the household head, sex of the household head, education level of the household head, family size, and proportion of the farmland allocated for avocado production influenced the avocado producers’ participation in contract farming under the agro-processing industry. Average treatment effect on treated (ATT) estimation showed that participation in contract framing had a substantial impact on avocado producer households’ income. One of the most revolutionary facets of this digital revolution is the integration of neural networks (NN), which have become effective instruments for deciphering complex patterns and optimizing decision-making processes (DMP). This quantitative study investigates the influence mechanism of the digital economy (IMDE), specifically the integration of NNs, on the corporate governance (CG) model. Employing a questionnaire survey, data was collected from 347 professionals to explore the impact of NN technologies on DMP, Digitalization Levels, Digital Capabilities, transparency, accountability, trust, and the role of regulatory frameworks in CG. The study establishes a significant enhancement in DMP by integrating NN technologies into CG models. The research reveals a favorable correlation between a business’s level of digitalization and its adoption of NN-based CG models. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive exploration of the multifaceted impact of NN technologies on CG in the digital economy (DE). By examining the technological aspects, Digitalization Levels, capabilities, and regulatory landscape, the study comprehensively comprehends the dynamic interplay involving the DE and CG. Building on the growing strand of the literature that reexamines IP’s effect on an array of social and economic outcomes, this paper examines the relationship between quantitative (patents and trademarks) and qualitative (IP protection) measures of IP, on the one hand, and manufacturing growth, on the other hand, accounting for the presence of nonlinearities. Using a two-step system generalized method of moments (SGMM) approach on a panel dataset of 81 countries spanning the post-1995 TRIPS Agreement period, our estimates show that these alternative measures of IP have differential and nonlinear effects on manufacturing growth. In particular, patents have a positive significant marginal effect on manufacturing growth past a minimum scale, whereas trademarks do not have a significant effect. In contrast, stronger IPR protection has a positive effect only up to a critical level of IPR protection, implying that “too much” IPR protection can stifle growth-inducing competing innovation. The paper concludes with a brief discussion on the mechanisms through which IP may contribute to manufacturing growth, and on some policies, which may help realize this potential. Broadly, this paper speaks to academic and policy discussions surrounding optimal IP enforcement and the benefits and consequences of IP.</p>","PeriodicalId":47435,"journal":{"name":"Journal of the Knowledge Economy","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":3.3,"publicationDate":"2024-08-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142179702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":3,"RegionCategory":"经济学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, a worldwide bibliometric analysis and visualization of green economy publications have been carried out to identify recent trends and hotspots using VOSviewer 1.6.10 software. A Web of Science (WoS) keyword search on “green economy” yielded 409 documents between 2002 and 2022. The documents were analyzed in terms of year of publication, countries, institutions, keywords, journals, co-authorship, and co-citations.
