Benítez, David Romero","doi":"10.1109/ColComCon.2019.8809146","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ColComCon.2019.8809146","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper, a new design for a 180˝ hybrid directional coupler is presented and implemented, the coupler works in the frequency range of the C band spectrum from 5.9 to 6.1 GHz in UP-LINK mode. The designed coupler achieves less weight, use less coupler sections, reaches phase difference in the output ports and its able to handle larger bandwidths. First, a study of the state of the art about this type of couplers, their mathematical analysis, and the methods to be used, are reviewed together with the initial design of a 180˝ hybrid coupler section. Then, the electromagnetic behavior of this hybrid ring, as well as its coupling to the host transmission line, are studied, and analytical equivalent-circuit models are also proposed. A new multiple sections coupler with 4 input and 4 output ports, was then generated from this initial hybrid ring design, with the aim of increasing the bandwidth. A final directional coupler implementation was then fabricated using Microstrip technology for its subsequent analysis at 6 GHz. Both simulation and experimental results show good performance agreement. In order to improve the efficiency of the intrusion detection system and the corresponding mitigation action, it is important to address the problem of false alarms. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis of two approaches that consider the false alarm minimization and alarm correlation techniques. The output of this analysis provides us the elements to propose a parallelizable strategy designed to achieve better results in terms of precision, recall and alarm load reduction in the prioritization of alarms. We use Prelude SIEM as the event normalizer in order to process security events from heterogeneous sensors and to correlate them. The alarms are verified using the dynamic network context information collected from the vulnerability analysis, and they are prioritized using the HP Arsight priority formula. For cavity lengths between 4.86 m and 24.86 m, the obtained PRR was between 8 MHz and 41 MHz, and the SPW changing between 18.40 nm and 2.08 nm. The SPW and the PRR performance showed a inversely proportional behaviour respect to cavity length L. Although there are required sophisticated devices and algorithms, it is possible to obtain information using simpler techniques. The prototype that was developed has features for sEMG recording, such as high common mode reject (CMR), high coupling impedance, high gain and 2 stages of active filters. Besides, the analog to digital conversion is performed with an ADC Delta-Sigma converter. Besides, we propose a decomposition algorithm with 5 stages: pre-processing, segmentation, clustering, classification and a spatial filtering stage. This is used on a detection algorithm for MIMO Spatial Modulation (SM) communications and it is implemented on an Intel Altera Cyclone IV FPGA. This sorting network has the added peculiarity that it indicates the index or entrance order of the numbers to sort; i.e., each element of the sorted vector has a certain amount of bits concatenated indicative of their original position. Also, as it is completely combinational, the amount of time taken to sort is only the inherent propagation delay, having great performance even if it is not suitable to sort a great quantity of elements. Specifically, this technology was proposed with the aim of increasing road safety and improving traffic flow management by information interchange among vehicles. In this sense, the dedicated radio short-range communication (DSRC) technology enables reliable vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicleto-infrastructure (V2I) communication. However, in order to guarantee the correct operation of the radio transmission systems, it is necessary to test the transmitter and receiver devices under controlled conditions. A channel emulator offers a fast and non-expensive solution to perform these tests. This paper presents a new non wide-sense stationary uncorrelated scattering (non-WSSUS) channel emulator for vehicle communications, which is based on software defined radios (SDR). Implementation results show that the proposed channel emulator can reproduce propagation environment corresponding to non-WSSUS channels with exactness. However, the traditional or inherited infrastructure presents innovation difficulties as a consequence of the cost that its adaptation would imply, therefore it is necessary to find alternatives that efficiently manage the existing resources. A new paradigm arises based on the decoupling of the control plane from the data plane of each device to place it in a centralized entity, giving way to the use of software-based technologies. This paper proposes the implementation of a wide area network defined by software (SD-WAN) to connect two data centers defined by software, which guarantees a predefined quality of service (QoS) and traffic prioritization. Several simulations are carried out in scenarios governed by VoIP services and bandwidth, delay, jitter and CPU load are measured. Under this concept, despite the benefits of equipping any device with exceptional capacities, significant congestion is generated in the network as a result of an increasing number of connections. Consequently, fog computing emerges as a valid solution, since by performing local data pre-processing, the transmitted load is reduced. In addition, it grants the possibility of implementing adequate security measures, ensuring the veracity of the information. This research proposes the design of an IoT system for measuring environmental variables, consisting on a WSN, fog computing and cloud computing, which deploys end-to-end encryption techniques. The proposed and experimentally tested coding is based on hybrid Multi-Pulse Position Modulation (M-PPM) for data encoding, in which the number of pulses (slots) control the amount of current delivered to the LED such as the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). The implemented VLC system complies with the dual functionality, indoor lighting and data transmission, also proposes an alternative solution for the problem of the interdependence between the speed of data transmission and the variation of the levels of illumination. In this paper, the feasibility of implementing the proposed scheme using low cost elements and using digital demodulation is demonstrated.
