With the help of game theory analysis, this paper explores the performance of all interest parties relating to land acquisition of large infrastructure project, in which the interest preference of parties concerned, and characteristics of behavior are comprehensively studied. Based on it, two game models are established: the bargaining game under incomplete information between local government and peasantry, the game model based on principal-agent relationship between central government and local government. Interactions among central government, local government and peasantry are illustrated in analysis of the two models. Planning and design (P&D) phase in an enterprise is critical to project success in the front-end process of new product development (NPD). In real world, when selecting an appropriate P&D alternative which involves a variety of different considerations such as corporate strategy, finance, marketing, technology, production, customer needs, product aesthetics, and so forth. If company's upper-level management lacks the ability to effectively evaluate the candidates which are proposed by the product design team, substandard NPD projects caused by inadequate decision-maker selection are often happened. In this paper, we suggest an improved product design selection methodology which reflects interdependencies among evaluation criteria and candidate alternatives using the novel concurrent SMART (planning) times SMART (design) (SMART2) evaluation model by means of the bi-directional analytic network process (ANP) approach. Subsequently, a zero-one goal programming (ZOGP) model is formulated to consider the limited resources and some inevitable constraints for reaching an optimal solution. Forecasting of mobile subscriptions in a country is one of the research areas. In this paper, Bass diffusion model is used to forecast the number of mobile service subscribers in major countries in Asia Pacific. Technically, we compare two forecasting methods: Bass diffusion model and diffusion by analogy. One is popular in research and the other is commonly applied in practice. Two estimation methods for Bass diffusion model are also compared: adaptive nonlinear least square (adaptive NLS) and genetic algorithm (GA). The results show that Bass diffusion model in general performs better than diffusion by analogy based on the in-sample sum of squared errors (SSE) and out-of-sample SSE. On the other hand, adaptive NLS and genetic algorithms are comparable in generating reasonably sound forecasting results","PeriodicalId":431021,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"278 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115263107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Once all detected faults are removed, project managers can begin to determine when to stop testing. Software reliability has important relations with many aspects of software, including the structure, the operational environment, and the amount of testing. Actually, software reliability analysis is a key factor of software quality and can be used for planning and controlling the testing resources during development. Over the past three decades, many software reliability growth models (SRGMs) have been proposed. For most traditional SRGMs, one common assumption is that the fault detection rate is a constant over time. However, the fault detection process in the operational phase is different from that in the testing phase. Thus, in this paper, we use the testing compression factor (TCF) to reflect the fact and describe the possible phenomenon. In addition, sometimes the one-to-one mapping relationship between failures and faults may not be realistic. Therefore, we also incorporate the concept of quantified ratio, not equal to 1, of faults to failures into software reliability growth modeling. We estimate the parameters of the proposed model based on real software failure data set and give a fair comparison with other SRGMs. Finally, we show how to use the proposed model to conduct software release time management","PeriodicalId":431021,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"11 6","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114132235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, her overseas diffusion since 2002 was even slowly moving by gaining only one-tenth of Japanese domestic subscribers for two years' expansion. The purpose of this paper is to study the diffusion on the case of international technology transfer of Japanese i-mode. We focused five earlier overseas i-mode licensed operators located in Taiwan, Netherland, Germany, Belgium, and France from the perspective of institutional economics to explore the possible deficiencies of internationalization. We found four strategic institutional levers that stimulated i-mode diffusion in the domestic area of Japan better than the overseas. First, the leadership of operator would enhance the bandwagon effect of i-mode marketing. Second, the higher subscribing scale would provide higher network effects and economies of scale to the allied mobile device and content providers. Third, the lower mobile penetration rate curtailed efforts to remove the switching costs which made users locked by certain mobile operators. Fourth, the more capable coordination of mobile operator over complements would not only consolidate the technological evolution sooner but also integrate vertically among the mobile complements for launching mobile services credibly. In conclusion, the authors propose some strategies to internationalize a new standard by co-branding with the local reputable vendors and by the penetration pricing as the incentive for inducing switch. Besides, we suggest a plausible policy of cannibalization to facilitate the mobile migration at the standpoint of industry policy","PeriodicalId":431021,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Management of Innovation and Technology","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114412912","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
