Of all resources, however, land has remained an overwhelming source of conflicts among various user groups as well as individuals at varying thresholds. In particular, conflicts between farmers and herdsmen in the use of agricultural land are becoming fiercer and increasingly widespread in Nigeria, largely due to ‘intensification and extensification’ of production activities that are necessitated by increasing human population (Gefu and Kolawole 2005; Fasona and Omojola 2005 cited in Adisa and Adekunle, 2010). The vital role of agriculture in the development of conflicts between pastoralists and farmers have been noted as an example of Low Intensity Conflict emanating from environmental degradation, resource scarcity, demographic and climate change (Shettima and Tar, 2008).","PeriodicalId":427849,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Contemporary Research and Review","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131147252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, dependence on alternative and sustainable sources has become a pressing topic. In this paper will review the performance of solar chimney power plant, the parameters that affect on the performance, conversion efficiency and power output for a different collection of prototypes. During this study there are found that power output of the solar chimney power plant is directly proportional to increase of the height of the chimney, specifically when the solar chimney is sloped where the performances is better as well as the conversion efficiency. While increasing the diameter of collector will provide a big heating area which cause a decrease of air density due to rise in the air temperature under the solar collector which lead to increase the flow of driving force and the mass flow rate that causes an increase in the power output. Pressure drop is an important factor for identifying the maximum power output when the solar radiation is a constant which effect on thermodynamic properties. Therefore, the efficiency will increase with increasing the optimal proportion of pressure drop.","PeriodicalId":427849,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Contemporary Research and Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130902389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This lack of participation is creating a gap in research on mentoring. The study found sharing experiences with an interviewer not only works as cathartic instrument for postdoctoral researcher but also provides them with new perspective on their mentoring experience. Meanwhile, participating in research about their experiences in mentoring adds valuable information for mentoring programs, mentors and mentees. Despite postdoctoral researchers’ scientific background lack of interest in participating in academic research is of serious concern. The study was conducted using Grounded Theory as a tool. The data was collected in 25 semi-structured in-depth interviews with professors and postdoctoral researchers participating in mentoring programs across Germany. The paper aims to propose initiating a dialogue for participating in academic research in higher education especially at postdoctoral researchers' level to increase awareness.","PeriodicalId":427849,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Contemporary Research and Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133219049","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study used mainly primary data obtained by the use of a well-structured questionnaire. The study used multiple regression analysis to test the two hypotheses of the study. The result shows that a negative relationship exist between distribution management and its effect on consumer's accessibility and it is statistically significant (p<0.05) and in line with a priori expectation. Also, the study found that the source of fake and counterfeit product is positively related to distribution channel management but it is not statistically significant (p>0.05). It was concluded therefore that efficient distribution channel management could help to greatly reduce the proliferation of counterfeit products in the health sector. In view of this, it was recommended that laws guiding the regulation of imported and manufactured products should be strengthened to ensure effectiveness by regulatory authorities. Hence, the distribution channels management policies should be an approach to control counterfeit products by instituting on a clear post market surveillance system that will aid the fast identification of counterfeit and other substandard drugs while consumer's access to counterfeit product should be restricted through an efficient distribution channel management.","PeriodicalId":427849,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Contemporary Research and Review","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132322223","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Finance and technology are inching closer to convergence by the day; while older investors may be reluctant to have robots doing their investing for them, many millennials are jumping unto the new asset management bandwagon. Thus, allowing algorithms to predict and recommend investment plans and automatically balance portfolios for them based on information such as age, risk tolerance level, investment goals, etc. Robo-advisory software programs periodically buy and sell securities to keep the mix matched to investors’ risk tolerance. This study shows that the emerging issues around fintech only serve to signal that the asset management industry is set for a massive overhaul as more investors seek to substitute the human asset manager for robots and algorithms. Personal finance management especially for low net worth individuals is in a nascent stage of undergoing a complete revolution as these technologies continue to develop. Adventurous investors are encouraged to try robo-advisory services. Although robo-advisory is still at a very rudimentary level especially in developing countries, asset management companies need to recognize the impending disruption and use it to their advantage or risk being smothered by the technology.","PeriodicalId":427849,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Contemporary Research and Review","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124189447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chitosan was extracted from crab shell and used to form complex with iron salt. Eighteen Wistar Albino rats were acclimatized and divided into three groups of six animals each weighing between 178 and 237g for bioasay: the control; the diabetic and the treated. Alloxan induction caused relative decrease in the weight of the animals in the induced group (153.64g) than control (194.21) and chitosan-iron complex treated (166.19g) groups. Results of blood glucose showed that the group treated with 50mg/kg body weight alloxan possessed higher glucose level (199mg/dL) than the control (57.67mg/dL) and chitosan-iron complex treated (55.33mg/dL) groups. The activity of chitosan-iron complex was evaluated on the plasma, liver and kidney of the rats. The results of the other studied parameters showed that chitosan-iron complex reversed the effects of the alloxan to almost control in the studied organs as the levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), triglyceride, total cholesterol; HDL-Cholesterol, malondialdehyde (MDA), catalase and reduced glutathione were effectively regulated. It can therefore be inferred that chitosan-iron complex can be used in the treatment of diabetes and diabetic related complications.","PeriodicalId":427849,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Contemporary Research and Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122241468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
