Herrmann. It is the purpose of this paper to elucidate the status of these filters before and after Herrmann's paper. Our survey shows that both the formula and the shape of the magnitude response of these filters had been known to actuaries and mathematicians before the publication of Herrmann's paper. We provide a broad outline of the contributions made by actuaries and mathematicians on this class and other related FIR filters. In order to be able to investigate these systems, in this article, we derive generalized spatial correlation equations of a circular antenna array for two types of angular energy distributions: a Gaussian angle distribution, and uniform angular distribution. The generalized spatial correlation equations and bit error rate (BER) performance is investigated. It has been reported that spatial correlation and BER performance using linear array antenna, but very few attempts have been made at circular array antenna. It has been shown that either the epsilon or quotient-difference algorithm is suited for this purpose. The limiting amplifier has cross-point and gain-control features. The key block of the amplifier is a cascode emitter-coupled pair with Schottky diode output clamps to achieve the limiting function. The cross-point feature is realized by generating a DC offset current for the emitter-coupled pair. The limiting amplifier was fabricated in a 1.5-/spl mu/m InP HBT process. The proposed design has been modeled by VHDL and synthesized using the Faraday 0.25 mum standard cell library.
