Unlike developed countries, every element of the corporate social responsibility (CSR hereafter) is not supposed to generate similar corporate payback in the context of developing countries. Enterprises take considerable care to categorize these stakeholders in proper sequence for better corporate results. It was found empirically that CSR disclosure (CSRD hereafter) relevant to employees and communities have direct relationship with the firm‟s performance in term of earning per share (EPS).The results of this study will portray a comprehensive picture for corporate decision makers to realize the priorities and urgency of different beneficiaries for corporate benefits, existence and prosperity in the context of developing countries like Pakistan.","PeriodicalId":421170,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Tourism","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114555636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, governments and regulatory bodies are convinced to ensure effective CG practices and strict regulatory requirements must be imposed. The primary aim of this research is to examine the effect of corporate governance both at country and firm-level on the firm’s efficiency of Pakistani listed non-financial firms. The empirical analyses consist of two parts. Initially firm efficiencies such as overall technical efficiency, Pure Technical efficiency and Scale efficiency are measured through Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) technique over a 10 years’ period from 2008 to 2017.These efficiency scores are used as proxies for firm performance. In the second stage, CGboth at firm and country level are used as independent variables to examine its impact on firm efficiencies scores. The results findings support the theoretical justifications that efficient system of CG and regulatory system ensures disclosures. These disclosures not only enhance accounting information quality but also help in reducing agency cost which in return improve investors protection. Thus, managers tend to take decisions in the best interest of shareholder by utilizing firm resources efficiently and effectively and as a result enhance firm efficiency.","PeriodicalId":421170,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Tourism","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117321316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this book Tom Peters has given us 15 discrete ideas that logically, systematically and coherently add up to the “one big idea” i.e. Innovation. Through 400 seminars in 47 states and 22 countries in five years, Peters has refined and reinvented his views on innovation. The whole idea of this book is either to be innovative or die. This book is a blend of thoughts, quotes and exclamation points which are very inspiring and thought provoking for the readers. Practical examples of successful businesses have been given which focus on innovation. This book is very inspiring as it has got blog graphics, facts and figures that sources range from Martha Steward to Bill Gates. This book is very helpful for those who want to know about how to bring innovation in the organization. The Circle of Innovation is for all those who run a business of any size; from a six-person department to a large business having 500 plus employees, it empowers the readers to transform their organizations by following the useful tips of innovation mentioned in this book. \"No matter where you are in your career, this book is a must read. These orientations are originating from both integrative as well as instrumental conceptualizations. As the lingua franca is English so these orientations are becoming more complex. In Pakistan, where English is used as L2 new orientations are emerging with the growing needs. The factor analysis employed by Mansoor (2015) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa is taken as a model framework to study the same in Southern Punjab (Pakistan). For the current study a sample of 150 students of Business Administration Department of universities at Southern Punjab were taken as a population for the factor analysis. The findings support the fact that the integrative factor which is „Matter of Dignity‟ towards studying English as a second language from the available set of orientations is a stronger factor among the undergraduate students of Southern Punjab.","PeriodicalId":421170,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Tourism","volume":"18 39","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134446556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to analyze the relative importance of Artifacts, Espoused Beliefs & Values and Basic Underlying Assumptions—the constituents of organization culture in relation to organization performance in Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) of district Peshawar. Cross-sectional data was collected from 250 employees of public and private sector universities working in drade-17 or above as teaching faculty or administrative staff using multi-stage cluster sampling technique. Findings indicated strong impact of constituents of organization cultural on organization performance and that the artifacts component has greater impact on organization performance than the other two components. Espoused beliefs and values have smaller impact than artifacts but greater impact than basic underlying assumptions and basic underlying assumptions have smallest impact. Thus leadership and management of HEIs should pay more and more attention to their tangible artifacts and making then more and more visible and ensuring their proper usage as this will lead to improvement in organization performance.","PeriodicalId":421170,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Business & Tourism","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126025189","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
