A lot of definitions are in the literature. There is no generally agreed definition of corporate social responsibility (or CSR). According to the literature I think so the corporate social responsibility is a corporation's initiatives to assess and take responsibility for the company's effects on environmental and social wellbeing. Based on the literature, I think that the definition of corporate social responsibility (or CSR) can be classified into two general schools of thought. Corporate social responsibility (or CSR) is central to a whole range of concepts and issues relating to businesses and their role in society. It is useful to briefly consider where the idea of corporate social responsibility came from, when and how it has developed. In understanding corporate social responsibility, it is important to examine the genesis of the phrase, its meaning and its application and occurrence in scientific life. The goal of my study is to investigate when and where the corporate social responsibility (or CSR) appears in on-line scientific databases. I searched in databases when the phrase used first. I examined the frequency of appearance of corporate social responsibility (or CSR) in databases. The frequency of appearance of corporate social responsibility (or CSR) was 556,220 in on-line databases. The phrase was mostly in journals and in articles. The frequency of appearance of corporate social responsibility shows an exponential increasing trend in databases. The corporate social responsibility is occurring in more and more scientific research and publications. The first appearance of the investigated phrase in databases was in 1792 in all sciences. The first appearance of the investigated phrase in databases was in 1886 in selected (economic and business) sciences.","PeriodicalId":410560,"journal":{"name":"Business Ethics and Leadership","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115728509","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To develop an effective academic integrity policy, it is necessary to conduct preliminary research into the factors and reasons of academic dishonesty. Extensive research related to reasons and factors of academic dishonesty has been conducted in other countries, but not yet for a Ukrainian context. This article aims to provide a literature review on the reasons for academic dishonesty and factors leading to academic integrity violations. The article shows the key directions of research on the factors of academic dishonesty that have been studied among American students, using articles primarily from US academic literature and comparing them to relevant, available Ukrainian scholarly publications. Though the review does not claim to be a fully comprehensive one, it does provide an overview of the scale of factors and the variety of reasons for academic dishonesty in Higher Educations Institutes (HEIs). Literature was retrieved from Scopus, ResearchGate, Google Scholar databases, and Springer journals by using key search words such as factors of, reasons or causes for academic dishonesty, academic misconduct, academic integrity violation and unethical academic behaviour. The review showed that there are numerous reasons for academic integrity violations and that they stem from two major groups of factors — internal individual and external contextual factors. Whether it is beyond or within the bounds of possibility that a factor can be changed and accordingly utilized depends on its nature — external or internal — towards a student, and level (scale) of its influence — national, institutional or individual. An overview of available studies on factors behind academic dishonesty in Ukrainian HEIs demonstrated which factors need more detailed and extensive research to provide a sound base for developing an effective academic integrity policy. The findings of the article contribute to a deeper understanding of the most significant reasons students might have for committing academic malpractice, and to help develop academic integrity policies in Ukrainian institutions.","PeriodicalId":410560,"journal":{"name":"Business Ethics and Leadership","volume":"90 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130960736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Adapt and change is the cornerstone of survival in the industrial world. Everything is changing rapidly and companies need to understand that in order to survive and sustain their development they need to transform themselves. Innovating is the key towards transformation, thus change. In this literary review, the author tries to present the correlation between the strategic transformation and the innovation in the form of open innovation and customers as innovators with the creation of blue oceans. The author argues that nowadays when companies facing multiple challenges due to the globalization, they need to implement such strategic approaches in order to transform their business via incremental changes. Although this approach is not a panacea, it is imperative to underline that can clearly create a strong competitive advantage for the companies in question and can be the springboard towards growth and sustainable development. On the other hand, disruptive innovation can be the springboard towards such strategic implementation and can only be achieved via certain channels such as the customers as innovators and the open innovation approaches which although they are not widely spread nowadays, they can be the springboard towards a better future for the global economy. The correlation between such aspects and their implications in the companies’ strategic approach it is a very controversial issue which needs a further investigation on the basis of a future research.","PeriodicalId":410560,"journal":{"name":"Business Ethics and Leadership","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126204616","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The entrepreneurship has been combining knowledge, commitment and technology of the entrepreneur. Entrepreneurial attitude and behavior allow to find yourself on the market and achieve success. That is why entrepreneurship has been the object of interest of many scientists, not only in the field of economics. The aim of this paper was to present a review of Polish definitions of entrepreneurship, an enterprise and an entrepreneur, on the background of foreign historical approaches to entrepreneurship. Despite considerable interest in the subject of entrepreneurship, there is no unambiguous definition of this phenomenon. A common feature of the proposed definitions is the combination of entrepreneurship and business. Tsalikis","doi":"10.21272/bel.2(2).6-13.2018","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21272/bel.2(2).6-13.2018","url":null,"abstract":"This paper looks at the question of whether people can act ethically from the perspective of determinism, chaos theory, and unintended consequences. These concepts negate the idea that ethical acts are always followed by ethical results. Sometimes the opposite might happen, an ethical act could be followed by an unethical result. The paper begins by presenting the various definitions of “ethics”, including Taylor’s definition of ethics as “an inquiry into the nature and grounds of moral judgments, standards, and rules of conduct relating to marketing decisions and marketing situations”. Consequently, the predominant philosophical normative ethical theories are divided into three groups: (1) consequential theories – those that deal exclusively with the consequences of an action (egoism, and utilitarianism); (2) single-rule nonconsequential – those that deal with a single rule (golden rule, and Kant’s categorical imperative); and (3) multiple-rule nonconsequential – those that deal with multiple rules (Ross’s prima facie duties, Rawl’s maximin principle of justice, and Garrett’s Principle of Proportionality). Finally, Protagoras’ conception of ethical relativism is presented. The Greek philosopher Protagoras, seems to have believed two things: first, that moral principles cannot be shown to be valid for everybody; and second, that people ought to follow the conventions of their own group. The above ethical theories are seen through the eyes of Newton’s perception of Determinism of the world as a clockwork, where a cause is always followed by a predictable effect. It assumes that causation is absolute and all events are completely determined by previously existing causes. This deterministic point of view is juxtaposed with the concept of unintended consequences and the ideas of chaos theory including Sensitivity to Initial Conditions, Dimensionality, and areas of Determinism being followed by areas of Chaos. The conclusion is that reality is too chaotic and dynamic to predict the causal effects of ethical actions.","PeriodicalId":410560,"journal":{"name":"Business Ethics and Leadership","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128003073","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

After reviewing the literature, the researchers formulated a hypothetical model for the study that includes the central hypothesis from which six sub-hypotheses emerge, including measuring the impact of NLP pillars on leadership succession planning strategy. A sample size of 100 individuals was selected, representing the research population represented by the deans and deans of the university and colleges and heads of departments in colleges at King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia. The response rate was 82%, with 82 valid questionnaires for analysis. The study relied on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by AMOS (V.26) and SPSS (V.25) for data analysis and hypotheses. The study found a positive and significant effect between NLP and leadership succession planning strategy. NLP confirmed its re-formulation of standard mental models to understand and facilitate the process of thinking and training, which helps successive leaders understand the ideas and beliefs of current leaders and their ways of thinking in solving problems and facing crises. In addition, NLP plays a vital role in increasing the successive leader’s sense of the need to establish their reputation for outstanding performance after similarity and learning from the model. Finally, the novice leader needs a model and role model to help him control the way he feels, transforming it into positive thinking that stimulates energy and focuses on goals, which the application of NLP practices does. So, this study is recommended the necessity of activating leadership succession planning strategy within universities through establishing a leadership academy in which NLP methods are practiced, as this academy has a significant impact on achieving leadership succession and the continuation of pipelines of leaders.","PeriodicalId":410560,"journal":{"name":"Business Ethics and Leadership","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117108739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, this study specifies how the consistent use of IoT technologies results in substantial organizational competitiveness. The paper also explains how IoT can be referred to as a new component of business analytics and digital marketing and discusses the challenges related to introducing IoT solutions. The most pressing issues that need to be addressed in the IoT context are described as ethical and data privacy issues. It can be explained by the fact that a substantial amount of data is generated during the development of IoT solutions, which raises the question of whether the respective information could be properly managed. It necessitates implementing a transparent, ethical framework, which should be supported by an adequately regulatory process. The extensive exploration of IoT solutions allows academics and marketing practitioners to generate a wide range of data that can be used to improve products and services provided to diverse consumer groups. Therefore, this paper offers a framework for the collaboration process between academics and practitioners. This collaboration in developing IoT tools is marked by adopting a holistic approach to facilitating the progress of such innovation. Academic researchers’ expertise can be utilized to generate creative and innovative ideas on the IoT sector. The combination of important theoretical assumptions and practical experience is vital to achieving the strategic goals of the collaboration between academics and practitioners.","PeriodicalId":410560,"journal":{"name":"Business Ethics and Leadership","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127096677","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main purpose of the research is to investigate the interest level and popularity dynamics of social and affordable housing in the world in general and in OECD countries. The systematization of literary sources and approaches for solving the problem of ethical and economical aspects of social and affordable housing indicates that there is no single point of view on this issue among scientists. That is why the essence of the concepts of social, affordable, and public housing needs to be clarified considering existing differences.
