Despite the, information about consumer preference on the quality attribute of the indigenous vegetables is still lack. Thus, the study purposed to determine consumer preferences on the quality attribute of leafy greens basil, kenikir and watercress to improve the quality on the farm level. The research conducted through consumer survey in seven sites, namely Surabaya, Malang, Kediri, Madiun, Jember, Bojonegoro, Pamekasan, East Java Indonesia from July to August 2017. The site selection based on sociocultural and the composition of diverse communities. From seven sites, a total of 210 female respondents interviewed randomly. Consumer preferences on the quality attributes concluded by the method based on rank orders and analyzed with Chi-square. The experimental results showed that consumer preference for quality attributes depend on the vegetable. For basil: leaf color was light green, a large number of leaves, without a flower, medium leaf size (3.5 cm diameter), number of branches/stalk, no spicy taste, and smells stung. For kenikir: leaf color was light green, a large number of leaves, without a flower, medium smell, a large number of branches/stem, the texture of stem not fibrous, and no bitter taste. For watercress: leaf color was green, a large number of leaves, medium stem size, soft leaf, and slightly sweet flavor. Keywords: basil, consumer preference, kenikir, vegetable quality, watercress ABSTRAK Produksi sayuran indigenous merupakan sumber pendapatan penting bagi petani sayuran skala kecil di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Namun demikian, kriteria kualitas yang diinginkan oleh konsumen masih belum seluruhnya dipetakan, oleh sebab itu, pengkajian dilakukan agar dapat di identifikasi preferensi konsumen terhadap kualitas sayuran kemangi, kenikir dan selada air dalam rangka perbaikan kualitas di tingkat petani. Survei konsumen dilakukan di tujuh wilayah di Jawa Timur, yaitu Surabaya, Malang, Kediri, Madiun, Jember, Bojonegoro, dan Pamekasan pada bulan Juli sampai Agustus 2017. Pemilihan wilayah didasarkan pada sosiokultur dan komposisi masyarakat yang beraneka ragam. Dari 7 wilayah tersebut, wawancara dilakukan dengan total 210 responden wanita yang ditentukan secara acak. Preferensi pengguna terhadap sifat kualitas sayur-sayuran dianalisis menggunakan Chi-square. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa, preferensi pengguna terhadap sifat kualitas tergantung pada jenis sayurannya. Sayur kemangi yang disukai adalah memiliki warna daun muda, jumlah daun banyak, ukuran daun medium (garis tengah 3.5 cm), tidak terdapat bunga, total cabang/tangkai lebat, rasa tidak pedas, dan berbau menyengat. This experiment aimed to determine the effect of nozzle swing on the level of coverage and distribution of droplets. In addition, it is also to find out the effectiveness of pesticides used in pests and diseases control in cucumber cultivation. The experiment was carried out at Margahayu Experimental Garden (± 1 250 m asl.), Indonesian Vegetable Research Institute in Lembang, West Java, from July to October 2015. The experiment was arranged using paired comparisons and each treatment was repeated four times. The treatment tested is how to swing the nozzle with the position: (A) above the plant canopy facing down and moving forward and (B) below and swinging towards the plant at an angle of 45o. Results showed that the second nozzle swinging method (B) gave a higher level of coverage and distribution of droplets than that produced by the first nozzle swinging method, so the pesticide efficacy in treatment B was also higher. Keywords: efficacy, financial analysis, pesticide, spray volume ABSTRAK Cara penyemprotan pestisida yang umum dilakukan oleh petani mentimun di Indonesia sangat beragam, sehingga perlu dievaluasi untuk mengetahui cara penyemprotan yang tepat. Percobaan ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh ayunan nozzle terhadap tingkat tingkat penutupan dan sebaran droplet. Selain itu juga untuk mengetahui keefektipan pestisida yang digunakan terhadap hama dan penyakit pada tanaman mentimun. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Margahayu (± 1 250 m dpl), Balai Penelitian Tanaman Sayuran di Lembang, Jawa Barat, mulai bulan Juli sampai dengan Oktober 2015. Percobaan disusun menggunakan petak berpasangan (paired comparison) dan tiap pasangan perlakuan diulang empat kali. Perlakuan yang diuji ialah cara mengayunkan nozzle dengan posisi: (A) di atas tajuk tanaman menghadap ke bawah dan digerakkan ke depan dan (B) dari bawah dan diayunkan ke arah tanaman dengan sudut 450. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa cara mengayunkan nozzle yang ke-2 (B) menghasilkan tingkat penutupan daun oleh larutan semprot dan sebaran droplet yang lebih tinggi daripada yang dihasilkan oleh cara mengayunkan nozzle yang ke-1 (A), sehingga keefektipan pestisida pada perlakuan B juga lebih tinggi. The methods used in this study are Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), Trade Specialization Index (ISP), Intra-Industry Trade (IIT), and panel data regression. The results of this study indicate that the high production of Indonesian pineapple has not been matched by an increase in the volume of pineapple exports. The RCA index shows that Indonesia is superior to the Philippines in several countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, Singapore, Spain and Argentina for pineapple commodities. The ISP and IIT indices show that Indonesia has a tendency as an exporting country. The study was conducted from June to September 2017 at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, Makassar in the form of factorial Split Plot Design with 2 factors. Experiments were set with large chili varieties as the main plot consisting of var. Karina, var. Tombak, and var. Panex 100 F1, while the combination of Trichoderma enrichment and Boron fertilizer was set as subplots consist of 6 treatment combinations. The results show that there was a significant interaction between the treatment of varieties and Trichoderma Boron on plant height parameter and there was a significant effect of the varieties treatment on the number of productive branches and the number of fruits per plant. In addition, significant effect of the Trichoderma Boron treatment was shown in the parameters of fruit length per plant 100 HST. The interaction that gave the best results was in the treatment of Trichoderma asperellum 4 g plant-1 and Panex 100 F1 varieties on plant height of 47.77 cm. Salah satu cara untuk memperoleh informasi genetik yaitu melalui pendugaan komponen genetik dan nilai heritabilitas. Percobaan ini yang bertujuan memperoleh informasi komponen ragam dan nilai heritabilitasnya pada 2 populasi tanaman cabai rawit. Masing-masing populasi P1, P2, dan F1 ditanam dengan jumlah 40 tanaman, BCP1 dan BCP 2 sebanyak 100 tanaman dan F2 sebanyak 300 tanaman. Hasil pada populasi IPB C285 x IPB C290 menunjukkan nilai heritabilitas arti luas kategori tinggi untuk semua karakter kecuali pada karakter diameter buah. Jumlah buah per tanaman dan tebal daging buah memiliki nilai heritabilitas arti sempit kategori tinggi. Hasil pada populasi IPB C321 x IPB C290 menunjukkan heritabilitas arti luas kategori tinggi untuk semua karakter kecuali karakter bobot per buah. Karakter panjang buah termasuk dalam kategori tinggi untuk heritabilitas arti sempit. Rasio ragam aditif lebih besar daripada ragam non aditif pada populasi IPB C285 x IPB C290 untuk karakter jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot per buah, panjang buah, diameter buah, tebal daging buah dan umur panen sedangkan pada populasi IPB C321 x IPB C290 yaitu karakter jumlah buah per tanaman, panjang buah, tebal daging buah dan diameter buah. Metode seleksi yang bisa digunakan pada kedua populasi ini yaitu metode pedigree sehingga kegiatan seleksi bisa dilakukan pada generasi awal. (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is one of the important insect pests that can reduce production of cruciferous plants. Generally farmers control this insect pest by using synthetic insecticides. However, the intensive and excessive use of synthetic insecticides may cause negative impact to the insect and environment, such as the occurence of resistance and resurgence of pests and chemical residues in agricultural products. One of alternative strategies that can be adopted to reduce the negative impact of synthetic insecticide use is by utilization of botanical insecticide. The aim of this research was to study the activities of extract Averrhoa bilimbi leaves, Annona squamosa seeds, and Tithonia diversifolia flowers on mortality and growth inhibition of C. pavonana larvae. The mortality activity was assessed by single and extract mixture using leaf residual method. The larval growth inhibition activity was also tested by using leaf residual method. A. squamosa extract at concentration of 0.015% could kill 100% of larvae at 72 hours after treatment (HAT). Meanwhile, T. diversifolia extract at 5% could kill 88% of larvae at 144 HAT. Extract mixtures of T. diversifolia and A. squamosa at ratios 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1 (w/w) gave low mortality activity. These three extract showed growth inhibition activity against the larvae of C. pavonana. Keywords: Botanical insecticides, cabbage pest, extract mixture, toxicity ABSTRAK Crocidolomia pavonana (F.) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) merupakan salah satu hama penting yang dapat menurunkan produksi tanaman kubis-kubisan. Petani umumnya mengendalikan serangan hama ini dengan menggunakan insektisida sintetik. Namun, penggunaan insektisida sintetik yang terus-menerus dan berlebihan dapat menyebabkan dampak negatif pada serangga dan lingkungan seperti terjadinya resistensi dan resurjensi hama serta residu pada produk pertanian. Salah satu strategi alternatif yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi dampak negatif penggunaan insektisida sintetik adalah dengan memanfaatkan insektisida nabati. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas ekstrak daun Averrhoa bilimbi, biji Annona squamosa, dan bunga Tithonia diversifolia terhadap mortalitas dan penghambatan pertumbuhan larva C. pavonana. Aktivitas mortalitas diuji dengan ekstrak tunggal dan campuran menggunakan metode residu pada daun. Aktivitas penghambatan pertumbuhan larva C. pavonana juga diuji dengan metode residu pada daun. Ekstrak A. squamosa pada konsentrasi 0.015% dapat mematikan larva C. pavonana sebesar 100% pada pengamatan 72 jam setelah perlakuan (JSP). Sementara itu, ekstrak T. diversifolia pada konsentrasi 5% mampu mematikan 88% larva pada pengamatan 144 JSP. Ekstrak campuran T. diversifolia dan A. squamosa pada rasio 1:1, 1:2, dan 2:1 (w/w) memberikan aktivitas mortalitas rendah. Oleh karena itu, produksi enam genotipe tomat dibandingkan antara naungan 0% dan 50% menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok tersarang dengan tingkat naungan sebagai petak utama pada Desember 2016 sampai Maret 2017 di Kebun Percobaan Cikarawang IPB, Bogor. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji stabilitas produksi beberapa genotipe tomat dan mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhinya pada kondisi naungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa naungan mempengaruhi hasil dan insiden penyakit pada tanaman tomat. Siklus panen tidak berbeda antara kontrol dengan naungan 50%. Rata-rata jumlah buah 15-60% lebih tinggi di bawah naungan 50% kecuali genotipe Apel Belgia dan Tora yang cenderung menurun. Insiden penyakit virus gemini berkurang 80% dan tingkat keparahannya menurun sebesar 70% pada naungan 50%. Namun demikian, bobot hasil per panen seluruh genotipe tomat pada naungan 50% menurun sebesar 24.1% yang disebabkan oleh kecenderungan penurunan ukuran buah. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa stabilitas produksi tomat di bawah naungan dipengaruhi oleh genotipe dan kejadian penyakit. Currently in Indonesia, the use of potato cuttings is limited to the production of G0 and G1 tuber seeds in controlled conditions (greenhouse or screenhouse). This research used a factorial Randomized Complete Block Design with varieties (RGH01 and Medians) and seed sources (tubers (G0) and cuttings) as the factor and five replication. The data were analyzed using analysis of variance followed by Duncan's multiple range tests. The result showed that the plants derived from cuttings on both varieties produced more leaves and branches. Otherwise plant height were not significantly different. The production of tubers was not significantly different with 5.2 to 5.9 tubers per plant. Tuber yield of plants derived from tubers on both cultivars was higher than the plants derived from cuttings. The experiment was conducted in the greenhouse Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mulawarman University, using a completely randomized design consisted of 4 levels drought stress including 100%, 80%, 60%, and 40% field capacity. The F. deltoidea maintained for 9 months old and investigated for the growth parameter (plant height, leaf number, leaf area, the number of branches, stem diameter, and biomass), phytochemical screening, and the total flavonoid content. Drought stress has a significant effect on plant height, the number of branches, stem diameter and biomass. Based on the phytochemical screening, leaf extract of F. deltoidea contained alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids, steroids, and coumarins. The highest total flavonoid content observed under 40% field capacity (430.77 μg CE mg-1 extract) and the lowest total flavonoid content observed under 100% field capacity (282.05 μg CE mg-1 extract). In general, this results showed that the drought stress motivated a significantly decreased of growth and significantly increased of total flavonoid content of leaves extract. Keywords: cultivation, drought stress, flavonoid, tabat barito (Ficus deltoidea) ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan cekaman kekeringan terhadap pertumbuhan dan kadar flavonoid total tumbuhan tabat barito. Penelitian dilakukan di rumah kaca Laboratorium Fisiologi Tumbuhan, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Mulawarman, menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan kapasitas lapang air (KL) yaitu: KL 100%, KL 80%, KL 60% dan KL 40%. Setelah tanaman berumur 9 bulan dilakukan pengamatan terhadap peubah pertumbuhan (tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, jumlah cabang, diameter batang, biomassa). Perlakuan cekaman kekeringan berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, diameter batang dan biomassa tanaman. Berdasarkan hasil uji fitokimia ekstrak daun tabat barito mengandung alkaloid, fenolik, flavonoid, steroid dan kumarin. Kadar total flavonoid ekstrak daun tertinggi dihasilkan pada perlakuan KL 40% sebesar 430.77 μg Catechin Equivalen (CE) mg-1 ekstrak daun dan berbeda nyata dengan perlakuan KL 100%, 80% dan 60%. Kadar flavonoid total terendah terdapat pada perlakuan KL 100% sebesar 282.05 μg CE mg-1 ekstrak. Secara umum, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan cekaman kekeringan secara nyata menghambat pertumbuhan dan meningkatkan kadar total flavonoid ekstrak daun tabat barito. This research was conducted at the University of Experimental Riau Agriculture Faculty of Garden from September 2017 to February 2018. This study used a randomized block design (RBD). The first factor was compost consisting of 3 levels: without compost, compost TKKS and rice straw compost. The second factor is NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer consisting of 3 levels: 0 kg ha-1, 125 kg ha-1 and 250 kg ha-1. Parameters observed were initial soil analysis, plant height, dichotomous height, crown width, flowering age, harvest age, fruit length, number of fruits per plant, fruit weight per plant and fruit weight per plot. Based on the results of the study it was found that the best treatment was application of rice straw compost 5 ton ha-1 and 125 kg ha-1 NPK fertilizer (½ recommended dosage). Keywords: C-organic, Dichotomous height, Fruit weight, Inceptisol ABSTRAK Percobaan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompos dan pupuk NPK terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman cabai dan mendapatkan kombinasi perlakuan yang terbaik. Percobaan ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau pada bulan September 2017 sampai Februari 2018. Percobaan ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK). Faktor pertama adalah kompos terdiri dari 3 taraf: tanpa kompos, kompos dari Tanda Kosong Kelapa Sawit (TKKS) dan kompos dari jerami padi. Faktor kedua adalah pupuk NPK 16:16:16 terdiri dari 3 taraf: 0 kg ha-1, 125 kg ha-1 dan 250 kg ha-1. Parameter yang diamati yaitu analisis tanah awal, tinggi tanaman, tinggi dikotomus, lebar tajuk, umur berbunga, umur panen, panjang buah, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman dan bobot buah per plot. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan perlakuan terbaik yaitu pemberian kompos jerami padi 5 ton ha-1 dan pupuk NPK 125 kg ha-1 (½ dosis anjuran).
