Without strong intrinsic motivation of acquiring English, it would be hard for the learners to reach the language acquisition. Historically, second language acquisition was begun from the contrastive analysis in which the learners compare their first and the second language. Though the study is quite old, however, it is still useful for the truly beginners especially in EFL context. The current conceptual study aims to view the contractive analysis applied in EFL classroom. The implementation of the contrastive analysis in Indonesia cannot be separated from the students’ characteristics, classroom environment, and length of input. The comparative analysis on the sentence types and the Subject – verb agreements underpinned the further analysis on the contrastive analysis between Bahasa and English.","PeriodicalId":405992,"journal":{"name":"TAMANSISWA INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL IN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123854797","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For Grade 10, the students should master the single and mixture substances into solutions. It means that they have to understand how to identify the acid and alkaline. In the laboratory, it is easy to recognize the acidity of a substance using litmus paper, pH meter or universal indicator. However, it would be tough if the students have to use natural indicator. By applying the classroom action research among students on grade 10 in one of vocational school in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, the current study attempts to increase the students’ competence in comprehending the use of natural indicator to measure the acidity. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design using data from teacher practices in online teaching and learning. The data was gathered through interviews and online class observations with the teacher at a private junior high school. The strategies reveal the teacher used, such as using video, practicing dialogue, discussing the material learning, the model of teaching with media utilized, providing feedback on the material lesson, collecting assignments, and motivating students to participate in online learning activities. Regarding problems, the issues were about students lack of participation. Through the individual interviews among the participants, the study found that there were several reasons why they join the MBKM programs. However, started from the piloting program of both MBKM, the credit conversion has still become the main problem not only among students, but also the university. The discussion was brought under the scope of the structure of the spreading of course unit throughout the semesters. The study suggests that the courses should be redesigned by placing the main course at the beginning of the course: semester one to three, and the last semester. Whereas, the semesters depicted to MBKM were on semester five to seven. It means that the converted course units were on semester five to seven as well.","PeriodicalId":405992,"journal":{"name":"TAMANSISWA INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL IN EDUCATION AND SCIENCE","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124067045","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
