Material and Method: 42 female Wistar rats were used in the study. Rats were divided into 6 groups and study was designed as follows: Control group (G1) – opening and closing the abdomen only (sham surgery group) –, I/R group (G2) – 45 min ischemia followed by 2 h reperfusion –, I/R+MEL group (G3) – 45 min ischemia, intraperitoneal (i.p) 20 mg/kg MEL injection 5 min before reperfusion, followed by 2 h reperfusion –, I/R+CUR group (G4) – 45 min ischemia, 5 min before reperfusion i.p 200 mg/kg CUR injection and then 2 hours reperfusion –, I/R+MEL+CUR group (G5) – 45 min ischemia, 5 min before reperfusion i.p 20 mg/kg MEL and 200 mg/kg CUR injection, followed by 2 hours reperfusion –. At the end of the reperfusion period, the rats were sacrificed. Right ovaries were removed from the peritoneum and fixed. After fixation and follow-up, tissue sections were stained with hematoxylin&eosin (H&E), Periodic acid-Schiff (PAS)+Hematoxylin (PAS+H) and Masson’s trichrome stains. Pathological changes were scored and statistically evaluated. Results: Compared to the control group, there was a decrease in hemorrhage, vascular congestion, follicular degeneration, inflammation, interstitial edema, vasodilation and growing follicle numbers in all groups; these changes were severe in the G2 group; Mild to moderate severity was observed in the G3, G4 and G5 groups. Conclusion: Renal I/R damage significantly affects the ovaries histopathologically. MEL, CUR, and MEL+CUR partially preserve the histological structure, but MEL treatment seems to be more effective than CUR treatment.","PeriodicalId":394509,"journal":{"name":"Gevher Nesibe Journal IESDR","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124282240","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As with many malignant neoplasms, survival rates depend on the histopathological type of cancer, its stage, tumor size, and treatment. In this study, we aimed to classify pancreatic cancer according to clinicopathological features and histological subtypes. Material and method The data of all adult patients diagnosed and treated for pancreatic neoplasm in our clinic were collected retrospectively from the hospital's computerized database and medical files. Patients were categorized according to their clinicopathological features. Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test were used for between-group comparisons, and t-test was used for independent samples for quantitative data. Data were expressed as mean ± SD for continuous variables and numbers and percentages for categorical variables. A value of p<0.05 was considered significant. Results The mean age of the patients was 60.5 years, 70.8% were male. There were five types of tumors defined histopathologically, and the most common diagnosis was adenocarcinoma (76.9%). The most common localization of the tumor was head and neck (44.4%). Whipple surgery was performed predominantly in 69.2% of patients, and distal pancreatectomy in 29.0%. Postoperative complications were observed in more than one third (34%) of the patients. The main complications were pancreatic cyst (16.3%). In the survival analysis performed with the Kaplan-Meier test, median survival of 30.5 months, and overall survival (OS) at 1.2 and 5 years were 67.8%, 40.5%, and 16.6%, respectively. Discussion However, survival analysis results were optimistic compared to population-based studies as all patients had resectable tumors.","PeriodicalId":394509,"journal":{"name":"Gevher Nesibe Journal IESDR","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128290925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Complications have been reported in cases of selective biliary cannulation, but this diminishes in experienced hands. The aim of this topic is to evaluate the practices and results in our clinic on how to achieve successful cannulation and sphincterotomy at minimum risk for the patient. Methods: The results of 688 patients who underwent ERCP in the endoscopy unit of our clinic over a 6-year period (2015-2021) are evaluated. Demographic findings, co-morbidities, duration of the procedure, presence of periampullary diverticulum, difficult cannulation rate, stent use, complication rate and successful cannulation rates of the patients were evaluated. Results: 58.5% of the patients were female. Heart diseases were found in 44.6% of the patients, kidney diseases in 11.5%, lung diseases in 14.9%, central nervous system diseases in 7.8% and malignancy in 2.1%. The common bile duct diameter is 12.98 ± 3.44 mm, and the mean stone size is 8.70 ± 4.50 mm. Periampullary diverticulum was present in 110 (15.9%) of the patients, and stony gall bladder was present in 48.0% of the patients. Selective cannulation was performed in 77.9% and pre-cut sphincterotomy was performed in 18.2%. Periampullary malignancy was detected in 12.1% of patients, and stent was applied to 22.1% of patients. Failed in 3.1% of patients. Emergency laparotomy was performed in 4 patients (0.6%). Bleeding was found in 58 patients (8.5%), perforation in five patients (0.8%), pancreatitis in 25 patients (4.0%), and mortality in six patients (1.0%). Conclusions: Although endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is an effective diagnostic and therapeutic tool, it can lead to serious complications. ERCP indication should be put correctly, procedures should be done by experienced people. In experienced hands, the success rate is high even with anatomical variations and difficult stones.","PeriodicalId":394509,"journal":{"name":"Gevher Nesibe Journal IESDR","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126604323","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is important to provide the said performance measurement in order to raise awareness of the health security performance of the countries. In this context, the health security performances of the European Union countries were measured by the MAIRCA method over the values of the Global Health Security Index (GHSI) components for the latest and current 2019. In the research, the relationships were calculated between the health security performance values of the countries determined by the GHSI and MAIRCA method and some multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) methods (ARAS, BTA, COPRAS, EDAS, MAUT, ROV, TOPSIS, WASPAS, Gray Relational Analysis). According to the findings, it was determined that the first three countries with the highest health and safety performance were Sweden, the Netherlands and Denmark, while the first three countries with the lowest health and safety performance were Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus. In the study, it was also observed that the countries of Bulgaria, Czechia, Cyprus, Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Greece were below the average health protection performance value. Accordingly, it has been concluded that these countries need to increase their health safety performance in order to be in compliance with other European Union countries on health safety. Apart from these, it has been determined that GHSI and MAIRCA methods have significant, positive and very high correlations with each other and with other MCDM methods except MAUT method. Therefore, according to this finding, it was evaluated that GHSI and MAIRCA method could be explained with each other and with other methods except MAUT method.","PeriodicalId":394509,"journal":{"name":"Gevher Nesibe Journal IESDR","volume":"276 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124454483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although there are many treatment options in the postnatal period, as the severity of the malformation increases, the response to treatment decreases. Lung development is restricted by the compression of intraabdominal organs passing through the diaphragmatic defect. The severity of pulmonary hypertension due to hypoplasia in the lung tissue is closely related to postnatal morbidity and mortality. In addition to the lung tissue, left ventricular hypoplasia may also occur due to pressure on the heart. For all these reasons, treatment options have begun to be investigated even in the prenatal period, before tissue hypoplasia develops. In the last 20 years, there have been serious developments in ultrasound and magnetic resonance devices in parallel with the developments in technology. Accordingly, lung development of fetuses with diaphragmatic hernia during prenatal period has been better followed. Fetal endoscopic tracheal occlusion is the only method that can give treatment options to patients who are found to have severely decreased lung tissue in the prenatal period, in order to increase postpartum life expectancy. With this procedure, it is aimed to collect the fluids released from the lung with a balloon placed in the trachea in the prenatal period. Because of these accumulated fluids, the lung volume expands, tissue hypoplasia decreases, and the degree of pulmonary hypertension decreases. Although the fetal tracheal occlusion procedure has improved neonatal outcomes, there is a possibility of complications depending on the way the procedure is applied. Various complications such as premature rupture of membranes and preterm labor can be seen depending on the procedure. For this reason, it is necessary to choose the candidates for the tracheal occlusion procedure well and to calculate the profit-loss ratio well. In this study, current publications of fetal endoscopic tracheal occlusion procedure were reviewed. It was investigated on which patients the procedure could be applied and what the benefits and harms might be if it was applied.","PeriodicalId":394509,"journal":{"name":"Gevher Nesibe Journal IESDR","volume":"260 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115807908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the impact of technology on healthcare, and with the increase in knowledge, many nurses today are seeking to work in an expanding, specialized or advanced practitioner role. Women's health nursing undertakes the roles of education, counseling, evidence-based work, research and scientific knowledge production, reducing the cost of care and increasing community satisfaction, with a woman-centered holistic approach at each life stage of women, in order to prevent diseases, and to protect and improve health. In developed countries in the field of Women's Health Nursing, such as the USA, England and Thailand, women's health nursing is a very special field of advanced nursing practices, which provides a woman-centered holistic approach, in the delivery of primary healthcare services, requiring master or PhD level expertise, and has dynamic&highly autonomous roles. Considering the developing countries, it is seen that women's health nursing is not really developed and it is carried out under the name of community-based nursing or \"midwifery\" in these countries. In 2011, women's health nursing roles and responsibilities were announced in our country, but its special fields were not included. In this context, it is necessary to develop special fields such as urogynecology, infertility, perinatology, gynecology and gynecological oncology, sexual health, menopause, as well as reorganize the roles and responsibilities of specialist nurses and all these should be supported within the scope of legal regulation.","PeriodicalId":394509,"journal":{"name":"Gevher Nesibe Journal IESDR","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122248857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
