It is the real e d u c a t i o n a l c r i s i s – it’s being exposed at a scale not experienced before. This crisis is determined with the civilization and economy. It’s being invoked with expanded scientific-technology and information civilization and co-related new neoliberal socio-economic system. Thus, the educational crisis is global, as it’s determinants are. The article focus on the main manifestations of the educational crisis: 1) the excessive orientation of higher education programmes on the utilitarian (professional, vocational) knowledge at the expense of the general (cultural and humanistic) knowledge, which is driven by the economic growth; 2) the collapse of the great pedagogical narratives and ideas; 3) the regress of academic identity of the most of universities; 4) the increasing dysfunction of the classical models of school, teacher and upbringing; 5) the permanent decrease of the quality of the general education and upbringing. The contemporary educational crisis is the major threat to the comprehensive and harmonious human development, in a sense it’s the crisis of the man himself.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129134292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It’s conditioned, inter alia, by educational measures directed at stimulating the behaviour of the young people, strengthening their sense of consciousness and responsible influence on the environment. The article presents a deeper insight into the mutual dependence between the individual’s sense of agency (and thus the subject’s belief in his/her ability to influence the reality) and his social activity (understood as the readiness to act for the benefit of others). They are not meaningless for building the social capital of the young generation, which in the near future will be responsible for the fate of the world. One of the analytic categories used to consider the presented issues is the construct of pro-development orientation, the constructive features of which include both trust in others and the world, as well as a sense of agency.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123847891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although its genesis is usually associated with puberty problems, it is rarely a rapid phenomenon. It should be treated rather as a kind of epilogue of one’s personal history. Malnutrition and weight control appearing in its context are in fact a manifestation of an attempt to cope with the hardships experienced by individual. Therefore, the anorexia nervosa is not just a problem of weight or eating habits, but it’s a way of manifesting the internal problem of the individual. Its form, defined by the otherwise valid canons of beauty or success, and consolidated by behaviours learned during the use of slimming diets, is revealed, however, in connection with specific personality traits. That is why the importance of people with this disorder, to a large extent, of tendencies to self-destructive behaviour, leading more or less consciously to self-destruction and in extreme cases to death, is emphasized. The article deals with the problem of anorexia nervosa as a manifestation of self-destructive tendencies and the issue of factors and mechanisms conditioning the occurrence of self-destructive behaviour from the perspective of selected psychodynamic concepts, indicating the importance of the issue for the care and educational processes.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124159114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kozielska","doi":"10.2478/rp-2020-0010","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2478/rp-2020-0010","url":null,"abstract":"Summary The text presents chosen results from research over the choices, aspirations and educational and career plans of young people (including some aspect of the perception of success). The chosen modules of the survey conducted in 2020 in a medium-sized city (approx. 80,000 inhabitants) are presented. The research goals were as follows: to characterize aspirations and plans as well as educational and professional choices made by young people; to present their opinions on the category of ‘success’ (including professional success) with its determinants; to characterize factors on educational paths of young people which enable or disable them to achieve professional success (technical, vocational schools vs general secondary schools) and prestigious versus non-prestigious professions; and to characterize the process of career counselling (students evaluation of the process and their expectations toward it). Previous studies in this field have shown that, for example, personality traits are poor predictors of entrepreneurial behaviour, while beliefs and judgments about one’s self and the world may be a determinant of success. Therefore, it can be assumed that positive beliefs about the determinants of success, such as optimism, hope for success, will contribute to a more positive perception of the transition process from education to the labour market. Importantly, the way of perceiving the determinants of success determines the adoption of a passive versus active attitude in shaping one’s fate. Therefore, the author of the article is interested in the way, that primary school students perceive the life and professional success (the dimension which they use to identify success or withdrawn from this identification), as well as in the way they perceive the factors that determine it. Those students’ perceptions may determine their attitudes towards shape of their lives.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129962647","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The tools that the teachers used for distance education were also described. 429 correctly completed surveys were collected. The most positive opinions concerned the development of one’s professional competencies, feeling positive emotions in the relationship with children and their parents. One of the worst assessed areas was those related to the possibility of supporting the social and emotional development of children. Most of the examined aspects of professional functioning, e.g. seniority, the location of the kindergarten, did not differentiate the attitudes. The differences mainly concerned teachers of special kindergartens, who in some aspects of attitudes (e.g. positive emotions towards this form of work) obtained lower results than teachers employed in other types of kindergartens.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126874276","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article discusses distance learning in the kindergartens in Israel from the perspective of kindergarten teachers. The research was carried out after the first wave of the virus, in March 2020, and its problems was: What is the attitude of the kindergarten teachers in Israel to distance learning? The research used a linear (differential semantic) questionnaire that measures the degree to which they agree with statements related to distance learning in the cognitive, behavioral, and emotional aspects. The questionnaire was filled out by 213 kindergarten teachers. The research attempts to conclude about the kindergarten teachers’ perception of distance learning.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116086686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The explicit use of the term of PLC together with related terms makes it possible to understand an educational policy which is focused on the implementation of concepts developed in a different, foreign context. The orientation adopted in Singapore identifies PLC not only as reinforcing incentives for teachers and their professionalism, but more broadly, as reinforcing the already high-quality education. The arguments and evidence presented in this article are mainly based on literature and research review, as well as on analyses of source documents.","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129923552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fairy tales are often being used in the early childhood education field as the starting point for school plays, as play themes or as a ‘background’for language, science or mathematics activity. Children’s symbolic perception of the fairy tales’ characters and their relationships reveals that there is a way of pupils’ reception of texts in which those texts are treated (and analysed) as a work of literary art. The article presents the results of research, in which – through the application of a non-verbal method – children indicated the interactions between Cinderella from the traditional literary fairy tale and a daisy from Hans Christian Andersen’s story (The Daisy).","PeriodicalId":393809,"journal":{"name":"Yearbook of Pedagogy","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129868659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
