Graduate students encountering Goethe for the first time (a situation typical of our current academic malaise) should be required to read the book before the start of the seminar, whatever the special topic of that seminar might be. But, as i indicated at the outset, this is also a book from which both specialists and generalists— interested readers all—will draw deep intellectual satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":385309,"journal":{"name":"Goethe Yearbook","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129813340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rommel and Grumbach even have published two hardcover versions of their latest project. one of them employs black-and-white illustrations by Grumbach that Rommel compares in her introduction to the work of novalis’s contemporary chodwiecki. The second version makes use of the same illustrations but colors them in a way that is certain to delight children of all ages! in fact, either of these two booklets, which can be ordered either directly from the publisher or via the website of the internationale novalis-Gesellschaft, might make fine gifts at the end of a course on novalis or German Romanticism in general.","PeriodicalId":385309,"journal":{"name":"Goethe Yearbook","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125028732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
