The traditional Bag of Visual Words model (BoVW) is a promising image representation technique for image classification. But its limitation is that much valuable information is lost when building the codebook of BoVW simply by clustering visual features in the Euclidian space. In this paper, we take full advantage of image semantic information to learn a new distance metric which achieving the minimal loss of image information, and then we learn visual words by clustering the local features using Gaussian Mixture Models (GMMs) with this distance metric. When given a test image, it firstly forms a visual document using GMM based on our learned distance metric, then its category is determined by estimating the maximum probability using language model under a specific category. Experimental results confirm the effectiveness of our method, results are satisfactory and competitive compared with traditional and state of the art methods.","PeriodicalId":380818,"journal":{"name":"The 26th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2014 CCDC)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117167128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To improve the dynamic performance in the operation region of constant power output, a sliding mode variable structure controller based on the analysis of the features model of the variable pitch and the speed wind turbine generator system is proposed. Moreover, to eliminate the chattering problem caused by the sign function in the traditional controllers, a quasi-sliding mode controller within the boundary layer is introduced. The pitch control model of a 2MW permanent magnet direct-drive wind power system is built and simulated. The simulation results show that the sliding mode control with quasi sliding mode can cope with traditional chattering problems in variable structure systems, and has such advantages as strong robustness to changes in parameters and fast response.","PeriodicalId":380818,"journal":{"name":"The 26th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2014 CCDC)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124811412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Anchor nodes perform self-localization and mobility prediction, and serve as reference nodes to localize ordinary nodes. According to the group movement properties of underwater objects, ordinary nodes perform self-localization by utilizing the neighboring nodes' locations and their predicted speed vectors. Well-localized ordinary nodes serve as reference nodes to localize neighbors further. The modified covariance algorithm is employed to estimate the linear prediction parameters of the mobility pattern. A Node-Selection Strategy is proposed to select the most suitable reference nodes to localize an ordinary node. The simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the proposed scheme.","PeriodicalId":380818,"journal":{"name":"The 26th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2014 CCDC)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124828014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The EV is scheduled for both operating stage and non-operating stage. With full consideration of operating income, regulation revenue and the owner's habit, the cost minimization problem is formulated as a convex programming with coupling constrains. Dual decomposition is utilized to obtain the global optimal solution. Then, a modified online approach is introduced to alleviate the impact of price prediction error. The simulation reveals that our algorithms can reduce the cost to a large extent. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the online scheduling scheme can achieve a similar performance compared with the optimal scheduling scheme having full knowledge of real time prices (RTP).","PeriodicalId":380818,"journal":{"name":"The 26th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2014 CCDC)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129462925","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, higher order neighborhoods can improve the solution quality of metaheuristic algorithms. The paper presents a high order neighborhood with O(n4) size called nonadjacent job block exchange neighborhood and develops a fast search algorithms with O(n2) time complexity for it. An iterated local search algorithm is further presented for the considered problem, where the new neighborhood along with the insertion neighborhood is used in variable neighborhood decent to provide a local search procedure for iterated local search. Experimental comparison shows that the higher order neighborhood based iterated local search algorithm is both fast and effective.","PeriodicalId":380818,"journal":{"name":"The 26th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2014 CCDC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129494947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The parameter uncertainties are time-varying norm-bounded and the non-linearity is assumed to satisfy the boundedness condition. The aim is to design a state-feedback controller which minimizes an upper bound on a quadratic objective function at each sampling instant. The hard constraint on the variance of the input is also considered. By linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, sufficient conditions are obtained, which guarantee the robustly asymptotic stability of the closed-loop feedback system. An example of a boiler drum system is included to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.","PeriodicalId":380818,"journal":{"name":"The 26th Chinese Control and Decision Conference (2014 CCDC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129702979","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
