In this paper some essential aspects of the dynamic reduction process are deepened while others are faced according some practical considerations, in some cases derived from other studies in ENSTO-E community. Fioriti","doi":"10.1109/AEIT.2015.7415244","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/AEIT.2015.7415244","url":null,"abstract":"Issues related to power quality of electrical service are becoming more and more concerning, not only because of the impact that they have both for the industrial production system and for the service industry in a globalized and competitive world, but also because of the regulatory authorities' penalty systems that are pushing Distribution System Operators (DSO) to ensure better service standards for customers. That being so, it is not surprising that DSO are trying to better understand the reliability performance of their electrical distribution networks; most of the interruptions to which the customers are subjected originate from medium voltage power lines, which exhibit a different annual count of outages depending on various factors, one of them being the unpredictable weather impact. In this work an outage annual frequency model is developed in order to present a reliability analysis of medium voltage power lines; this model is effective in pointing out the reliability differences between different sub-networks and is suitable for a chronological comparison of performances. Robotic rehabilitation allows to record quantitative data about movement patterns that can help clinicians to better address the rehabilitation protocols providing information not captured using clinical measures, but the biome-chanical parameters proposed until today, to evaluate the quality of the movement are not yet standardized. Equally, the proprioception rehabilitation is known to play important roles in the planning and control of limb posture and movement. The Russian Academy of Sciences has recently developed the \"Regent Suit\" (RS), an experimental medical device derived from a suit worn by astronauts for therapeutical purposes after space flights. Although preliminary studies describe rehabilitation outcome of the RS in stroke, EMG changes induced by the suit are not known. The main idea is to decentralize the entire set of thermal rating processing and synchronization functions on a network of interactive smart sensors. The resulting computing architecture is expected to exhibit several advantages over traditional paradigms as far as built-in synchronization features, \"in field\" processing capabilities, less hardware complexities, less communication network requirements, easy to extend and reconfigure are concerned. This work presents the development and the inexpensive implementation of an efficient algorithm based on the background subtraction technique adequate for low-cost embedded video surveillance systems. The proposed algorithm exploits the combination of few historical frames with the use of two channels based on the invariant color H and the grayscale level information to achieve high performance and good quality also within the Raspberry-Pi platform. The technical commissions of Europump, the European association of pump manufacturers, are working on new standards for EU market based on this concept, and the use of new efficiency indexes accounting for the overall efficiency of pumping units under real working conditions. The reliability of this approach is the topic of a research group composed by Federico II University and several industries. In this paper we outline the on-going research that seeks for a reliable metrics to evaluate the characteristics of built environments in terms of its efficiency and performance on the level of neighborhoods. Specifically, the research develops the evaluation model for Slovenian neighborhood, based on the modular system of indicators and to it connected methodology for the interpretation of resulting values. The envisioned instrument evaluates sustainability performance through five crucial categories: energy efficiency, environmental efficiency, efficient organization and management of the built environment, communities' engagement level, and exploitation of ICT smart solutions to foster other four categories of efficiency. Each of the category is observed from the aspect of three strategic levels of implementation: (1) buildings or households, (2) public and in-between spaces, (3) traffic organization and infrastructure. It has influence on human health and comfort, as well as the quality of certain services and processes. Therefore, it plays an important role for many industries, storage systems, transport and the preservation of products. For this reason, air-conditioning systems are integrating a dehumidifier device called desiccant wheel. The desiccant wheel is in charge of reducing the moisture caused by the process air and requires a hot spot for regeneration. This hot spot can be supported by solar thermal energy. This study evaluates the thermal potential of the ventilation and cooling system in a PV modules' installation. It is done according to the exploitation of the thermal energy transferred to the refrigerant as support to the hot spot, contributing to the regeneration of the desiccant wheel. For this to happen, an experimental installation has been developed, which consists of two inclined PV modules, with an air-flow channel below them. This system enables PV cells to refrigerate, thus improving the electric performance as well as making use of the residual heat generated from this process. One of the two modules is disposed of a series of plates interspersed in its cooling channel, with the aim of modifying the air flow, rising its residence time below the module and making the increase in air temperature more significant. Natural and forced convection have been tested at several air speeds for different irradiance conditions and ambient temperatures.
