The impact of the grating parameters and operating point on S-shaped hysteresis loop parameters is researched. Chazelas","doi":"10.1364/ACP.2009.TUP3","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1364/ACP.2009.TUP3","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper, we demonstrate that a prism coupling characterization technique can lead to simpler Waveguide Bragg Grating (WBG) designs and easier fabrication process by avoiding channel transmission. The experimental results have shown that the incident laser beam's collimation was maintained after coupling to a planar waveguide. A characterization set-up using two prisms was designed for measuring transmission characteristics of integrated structures and eventually planar waveguides in the visible or in the IR range. The radiative transition rates were calculated by Judd-Ofelt theory. A model for the dynamics of frequency upconversion process in Er<sup>3+</sup>/Yb<sup>3+</sup> co-doped KY(WO<inf>4</inf>)<inf>2</inf> crystal was proposed. The method is simple, but can lead to useful results efficiently. We achieve receiver sensitivity of −40.5 dBm at BER = 10−9. We adopt the transmission matrix method to analyze the transmission properties of the special MPCs. The results indicate that the stop-band edges of TE mode coincide with those of TM mode, and the stop bands for both modes expand as the incident angle increases. Based on the incident angle domain method, the ODTR band determined by the wave impedance ratio can be enlarged using a heterostructure.
