Results of this study revealed the presence of phytochemical which were active against gram positive and negative bacteria. Ethanol extracts of plant showed highest activity other than aqueous extract. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the aqueous extracts on the test organism was 25100 mgml, while that of the ethanol extract ranged between 25 -50 mgml on the test organisms, the minimum bacterial concentration (MBC) ranging between 25-100 mgml for ethanol extract, and 25-200 mgml for aqueous extracts. The highest activity at 45 oC was demonstrated by the ethanol extracts of S. rosmarinus against Staphylococcus aureus and Klebsiella spp. . In this study plant extracts against gram negative bacteria showed activity in acidic pH only in contrast of gram positive bacteria which were constant in plant extract. S. rosmarinus contained essential elements at higher levels. The results of this study suggest the possibility of using the ethanolic extracts of plant in treating diseases caused by the test organisms, especially when prepared at acidic pH.","PeriodicalId":364314,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Bioresearch","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130655867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, continuous monitoring and study is necessary to understand their existing situation for their improvement and management. Two sites were surveyed for vegetation measurements 50 kilometers from Elobeid where inventory was conducted on the rangelands. The two sites were selected according to soil type. Sampling for herbaceous cover was based on locating twenty transects 100 m. The assessment included cover, composition, density and biomass production. The tools used for data collection were Loop, 1 m2 quadrate, compass, and transect of 100m. The data was analyzed via analysis of variance. The results showed that overgrazing was considered as the major factor responsible for the low vegetation cover in the study area due to the concentration of high numbers of animals during the rainy season. The results indicated that negative impact on vegetation attributes replacement of palatable grasses by less palatable plant species and low carrying capacity. The most dominant herbaceous species in the study area were Abotilon figrianum and Cyprus rotundus both are less preferred by animals, indicating intensive selective grazing and hence disturbance in rangeland. Results indicated that there was variations in species density in two sites .pastoralist activities and heavy grazing are the main factors influencing the distribution of tree cover and can also affect the woody species density. The Boscia senegalensis and Acacia nubica were the most dominant tree species in the area and it was less preferred by animals. Sound management and suitable improvement techniques should be implemented for these rangelands.","PeriodicalId":364314,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Bioresearch","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133002535","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Today, one of the most commonly used biotechnological methods in plants is the doubled haploid method, whose main purpose is to shorten selection processes in field conditions, while obtaining homozygous lines in the first generation. Tobacco is an ideal plant for the production of haploid plants, tobacco crops produce an explosion of haploids that are being used today in the process of tobacco hybridization. Dihaploidization was performed by direct and rogenesis of haploid tobacco plants obtained in the laboratory in vitro at the Scientific Tobacco Institute - Prilep, using the tissue culture method. Four dihaploid lines of tobacco were included in the research, as follows: P 146-7 / 1 DH, Jk.l. 301/23DH, Hybrid 301 / n DH, Jk.l.75-301 DH and their analogues (P 146-7 / 1 Ø, Hybrid 301/23 Ø, Hybrid 301 / n Øand Jk.l.75-301 Ø).Materiality as an expression of the quality of the leaf tissue varies from 25.96 g/m² (Hybrid 301 /n DH) to 36.91 g/m² (Jk.l. 301/23 Ø).The leaf thickness of the tested dihaploid lines and tobacco varieties is within the range from 76.00 µm (Hybrid 301 / n DH) to 134.50 µm (Hybrid. 301/23 Ø).","PeriodicalId":364314,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Bioresearch","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133185213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The samples used ten does that had given birth once and three bucks, which had been sexually mature and were able to perform their reproductive functions. This study used an experimental method by administering gonadotrophin hormones in the form of PMSG and HCG. Data analyzed by unpaired t-test with Excel. The observed variables were litter size and birth weight, with five replications. The observations showed that the administration of PMSG and HCG had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on litter size and birth weight. The average litter size of rabbits treated with PMSG and HCG hormones was 61.53% higher than the litter size of controls followed by low variation in treatment than controls (1.30 vs. 1.80). Exogenous PMSG and HCG hormones decreased birth weight by 14.48% compared to controls with more diverse variance compared to controls (19.27 vs. 3.06). The conclusion of this study was the administration of PMSG and HCG hormones to rabbits reduce variation (increase uniformity) followed by an increase in the average productivity of livestock in the litter size at birth, followed by birth weight of kits who fulfill minimum standards.","PeriodicalId":364314,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Bioresearch","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133429555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But the losses caused by Spodoptera frugiperda on maize amount to millions of dollars, and the chemical control costly and not eco-friendly. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of ethanolic extract of Lantana camara and neem oil (Azadirachta indica) in reducing crop damage in maize cultivation in Bankim. This was carried in a field experiment using a randomized complete blocks design with the following treatments; 0.5L.ha-1 and 1L.ha-1 of neem and 10% and 20% ethanolic extracts of L. camara replicated three times. Results show that neem oil treatments significantly reduced (p< 0.05) crop damage by S. frugiperda on the leaves of maize from 49th to 63rd day after sowing (DAS) compared to the control treatment. Neem oil at 1L.ha-1 had a significant effect on the incidence of S. frugiperda at the 35th and 49th DAS relative to the control treatment. Consequently, neem oil treatment produced yield (4137.33 kg.ha-1) higher than the control treatment (2812.66 kg.ha-1). Neem at 0.5L.ha-1 and 1L.ha-1 showed significant differences in the number of damaged ears compared to control. Ethanolic extracts of L. camara significantly (p < 0.05) reduced crop damage relative to the control, from the 49th to the 63rd DAS. On the incidence of damage and the percentage of damaged cobs, L. camara at 20% showed a significant difference on the 35th and 49th DAS. Consequently, the number of insects collected in the control plots during the experiment was higher relative to the treated plots. Neem oil at 1L.ha-1 showed reduced crop damage and the number of larvae of Fall Armyworm (FAW), thus increased the yield of maize.","PeriodicalId":364314,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Bioresearch","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132156519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
