IoT provides a suitable and adaptable platform for different system such healthcare, transportation, communication, industry, gaming and entertainment, agriculture, security….etc. This paper focuses on using IoT technology with Cloud in healthcare system through a novel idea to evaluate mental and physical brain activities by exploit EEG headset. The traditional EEG headsets rely on using invasive EEG with multiple electrodes, which makes patients stressed and worried from wearing such headset. Thus, the proposed architecture model relies on using a modern, comfortable, easy-wear EEG headset to collect data through a car racing competition. Such data will be forward to Cloud to perform analysis and indicate level of brainwave diagnostics in order to control a robotic car to pass into a certain challenge directions. This idea facilitates the complexity of the conventional mental evaluation by using Neurosky Mindwave EEG headset to be easy for use and adaptable with multiple changes and developments. In this paper, we aim to introduce the idea of Brain Race for mental status detection and evaluation as a new transition step between entertainment and brain activity evaluation at different scenarios.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129265376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Initially, for ASP problem researchers applied mathematical models to obtain optimal sequences. Later, soft computing techniques are developed to obtain the optimal assembly sequences due to its ease ness in implementation. At the same time, some of the researchers developed CAD based and knowledge-based methods to obtain the optimal sequences, which consumes more search space during execution of the algorithm. Keeping the above considerations in mind and the advantages with artificial intelligence techniques, in this paper a new algorithm namely Crab Shell Search (CSS) algorithm has been proposed to obtain the optimal assembly sequences. This algorithm is developed mainly based on how the crab will search for a suitable shell in the shore to survive from the foreign bodies. The proposed methodology is applied to the different industrial products, the results obtained from the algorithm are compared with different well-known algorithms like Genetic Algorithm (GA), Ant Colony optimization (ACO) Algorithm, Enhanced Genetic Algorithm (EGA) and Memetic Algorithm (MA) to test the performance of the algorithm.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133344483","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The combined use of surface electromyogram (sEMG) and accelerometer sensors in a wearable sign language recognition system has been shown to enhance performance as compared to either of the sensing modalities. However, since sEMG is prone to motion artefacts, noises arising due to sweat on skin surface besides being costlier as compared to accelerometers, there has been a discussion in literature regarding the development of sign language recognition system with only motion sensors. In this work, the utilities of sEMG and accelerometer are analysed to reveal the scenario under which each of these modalities contribute the most. For a set of 1200 recordings, the overall accuracy when only sEMG or accelerometer signals are used is found to be 86.3% and 82.1% respectively, whereas their combined use yields an accuracy of 87.5%. Although, the inclusion of accelerometer data with the sEMG signals in a sign language recognition system is found to improve the overall recognition accuracy of the signs, it is demonstrated that under certain conditions the accelerometer data does not contribute much towards sign recognition. In fact, inclusion of accelerometer data with the sEMG signals under these conditions may adversely affect the classification accuracy of the sign. However, for another category of signs, accelerometers are sufficient for classification and sEMG is not required. The supporting results are also tested for significance using statistical analysis.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"208 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126977449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The offset control scheme adopted the phenomena of time-domain bulk-tuning to input transistors. The modification in offset control scheme and comparator core is done to reduce leakage through the bulk node and other issue noticed in design. The novel phase detector and charge pump are also proposed for high-speed, low power. Based on the proposed phase detector and charge pump, offset control scheme is designed, and using this two different DoTDCs, named as DoTDC-I and DoTDC-II are proposed. To verify the outcomes, they are simulated in SPECTRE at 0.8V of the supply voltage at 45nm CMOS technology node. Monte-Carlo simulation is done to obtain the offset voltage. The result shows that the offset-voltage is reduced from 1.608mV to 0.911mV in DoTDCI and from 1.694mV to 1.426mV in DoTDC-II structures using said control scheme.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126779565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Though lots of garbage bins are installed in various places nowadays but very few people use it. Moreover, when garbage becomes full it takes days to dump it and hence it overflows. In this paper, we propose a smart-bin which can collect garbage from the user by sensing the vicinity of the user by opening the lid or move to the location of the user when it is called using message. This design not collects garbage but also notifies when the smart-bin is full and also moves the dumping zone to dump the collected garbage. This paper considers a office room scenario and proposes the methodology accordingly.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"66 31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122403602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sidewall of the proposed structure is in staircase shape, hole in the beam and a tip mass on the free end side. To achieve high output power at low-frequency range unimorph PZT-5H piezoelectric material is used in the cantilever beam. The proposed structure for proof mass is incorporated at the free side of the cantilever and a hole on the beam. The simulation measures the resonance frequency of the cantilever and for the different values of load output electrical power is estimated. The proposed work achieves the electric potential of 0.7 V at 53.4 Hz with 1.0 g of input acceleration. Based on the simulation this harvester reports output power for various values of loads ranging from 100 Ω to 100 MΩ. With the load value of 30 kΩ maximum output power attained is 300 ΩW.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133826267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The differences in speed and gesturing pattern by different users immensely affect the accuracy of the gesture system if the features are spatiotemporal in nature. Existing trajectory features in literature are spatiotemporal in nature. The trajectory data represents the gesture as an ordered sequence of direction in 2D retaining its temporal information. Such systems are not user-convenient and restricted to limited applications. Therefore, we proposed a new approach of feature extraction from the dynamic gestures which are not trajectory-based and yet pattern and speed invariant with minimum computational complexity. In the proposed system, after the gesture is smoothened, it is represented as a binary image unlike a 2D sequence of trajectory points in the Euclidean space. The image is sub-divided into local instances to extract magnitude of Zernike moment and histogram features from each instance. The study is carried out on 16 keyboard characters from literature which are highly likely to have different patterns from different users. The proposed approach improved the accuracy by 8.65% (histogram + ANN model) and 2.05% (Zernike moment + ELM model) than existing spatial trajectory based system for pattern variation.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"114 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134483064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The positional accuracy of the robot end effector and smoothness of the robot travel can be achieved by minimizing the torque rate and joint jerks. But this results in vast increase in total travel time of robot which as a result affects the productivity. This leads to a formulation of a multi-objective optimization, as jerk and torque rate functions are contradictory to time interval function. Therefore, a new and efficient Hybrid Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm (HMOEA) i.e. Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) combined with Nelder-Mead simplex method with better local search has been proposed to obtain an optimal Pareto front consisting of non-dominated solutions that can give best trade-off between the objectives. Finally, the optimal results have been validated through simulation and experiment using Kawasaki RS06L 6-axis robot available in product development laboratory of department.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114248908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These distributed software system can be designed and developed by integrating different Web Services provided by different parties. Similar to other software systems, Web Services based system also suffers from bad or poor design i.e., bad design selection, anti-pattern, poor planning etc.. Early prediction of anti-patterns can help developer and tester in fixing design issue and also effectively utilize the resources. The work in this paper empirically investigates and evaluates six classification techniques, 8 feature selection techniques (7 feature ranking techniques and 1 feature subset evaluation technique), and 1 data sampling technique to handle imbalance data in predicting 5 different types of anti-patterns. These all techniques are validated on 226 real-world web-services across several domains. The performance of the developed models using these techniques are evaluated using AUC value. Our analysis reveals that the model developed using these techniques able to predict different anti-patterns using source code metrics. Our analysis also reveals that the best feature selection technique is OneR, data sample is better that without sampling and Random Forest is best classification algorithm for anti-pattern predictions.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124189026","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
