With the advent of wireless sensor network (WSN) technology, the problem of continuous monitoring has already been resolved and a good amount of real sensed soil information is also available but this useful information, if not transformed into effective and reliable decisions, it is of no use. To help in meeting the required transformation of “information into effective, reliable and useful decisions”, this paper discusses the conceptual framework of a prototype data-driven decision support system (DSS) for farmland assessment using WSN. The framework integrates real-sensed data, domain knowledge, user experiences, statistical data analysis, rule-based reasoning, and inference mechanism to generate relevant and timely alerts and advisories directly on the end-user mobiles through SMS and mobile app. A prototype DSS has been designed and developed as a proof of concept (POC) and its performance has been evaluated through experimentations using both simulated and real data. The result of experimentations illustrates the potential benefit of the proposed system in routine decision making agronomists and farmers.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117021969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Potential field algorithm is one of most fame algorithms of path planning, it works online. The potential field algorithm deals with any robot as an electron in a potential field. This robot or electron attract to the goal location and repulsion from other robots and obstacles. These forces cause it to move naturally to the target point with a suboptimal path. In this paper, we study and simulate multi scenarios of potential field algorithm in both cases which are: static and dynamic 3D environments. In the static environment, we suppose many static obstacles in random positions then find suboptimal path according to this algorithm. The second scenarios based on the existence of multiple mobile robots. The straight line path of each robot collides at least with the one other path. This algorithm used to solve this problem and find a collision-free path for each robot.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130609040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A power transformer is one of the most important links in a power transmission and distribution system. Continuous monitoring is essential to evaluate performance and ensure safe operation of the transformer. An integrated global system for mobile communication (GSM) is developed to control and monitor the present status of a switch yard. It is a cost-effective and reliable solution for continuous monitoring of the present status of a transformer using the recent advancements of GSM and Embedded System technology. In the present investigation, condition monitoring system of a transformer has been designed using GSM technology, to know the present status of the transformer through SMS, even when personnel is away from the control room of the substation. This embedded system will continuously monitor the condition of all the transformers operating in a particular substation and will report its status to the personnel/authority through SMS via GSM technology.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123563293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For driver assistance systems, the lane detection technique forms a key element to augment safe driving and afford warning in case of hazard. In this article, the difficulty of detecting lane amidst shadows and strong lighting condition is addressed which is significant for driving automation on mountainous roads. The proposed approach is tailored to mitigate the shadow effects cast on road scenes by using a hybrid saturation feature which in turn would meet the need for robust lane identification. Computer vision techniques are used to extract the existence of visual cues and label the lanes in the camera frames. Experimental analysis is carried out on real road hilly images using the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124538335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cracks lead to uneven edges leading to loss of productivity in terms of quality of surface finish and dimensional accuracy. In the present work, experiments are carried out on the power press with the uni-punch tool as a cutting tool and IS2062HR material. In blanking, punch penetration is varied to find a depth at which crack initiates in sheet metal. After punching, shear angle and fracture angle and punch penetration considered as input parameters from the available ranges. Experimentally, the optimum value of clearance obtained by plotting angles versus per cent clearance. The input values fed to train the Neural Network (NN) which predicts clearance for different unknown input parameters. The results of predictions are well within the range of experimental values. However, the material ductility influences the clearance selection for blanking.","PeriodicalId":358845,"journal":{"name":"2019 9th Annual Information Technology, Electromechanical Engineering and Microelectronics Conference (IEMECON)","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134017823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
