Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Software Defined Radio (SDR), can play a key role to innovate and improve satellites-terrestrial communications. GNU radio as SDR and Mininet as SDN, offer the ability to manage the network satellite resources. Through scenario and use cases, this paper provides an in-depth analysis for an effective combination of SDN, GEO, and LEO satellites using GNU Radio simulation and Python3 scripting. This new architecture can bring satellite communications towards a new proposal of data transmission technology to delimit the various potential areas of improvement. That can be pursued by the added value of SDN-GNU Radio technologies in the field of the satellite ground segment. To achieve this result, the newly introduced architecture can be fully controlled at the physical layer level. The solution is validated by the deployment of three scenarios: with SDN, without SDN, and SDN adding a streaming overload. Based on the results of the presented simulation, we found that our architecture can achieve better quality of service through efficient satellite traffic control, when SDN and GNU Radio are deployed.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134326528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is realized in the context of κ – μ shadowed channels for the case of optimum rate adaptation and optimum power and rate adaptation. Based on this, novel analytic expressions are derived for the above performance measures, which are subsequently utilized in the evaluation of the incurred generalized multipath fading and shadowing phenomena in different practical scenarios of interest. This allows the development of insights that can be useful in the realistic design of emerging wireless set ups as it is shown that the severity of composite fading is significant also in the context of channel capacity since variations of over 20% are observed in different severity levels.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114670471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the field of education management, the introduction of multi-agent architectures can be useful for modelling the environment of an educational institution, characterised by the diversity of actors and their geographical distribution. The design of development projects at the level of educational institutions requires intelligent processing of the available information on the school's actors, in particular for the diagnosis of learning and the prioritisation of improvement interventions.In this paper, we propose a new model that contributes to the development of a diagnostic support system based on a multi-agent system for the analysis and management of educational institutions in the Moroccan context. The proposed model aims at facilitating the management task and improving the performance of educational institutions by providing the local manager with strengths and areas for improvement based on quantitative and qualitative data provided by agents from information systems and other information sources.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123940741","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This new paradigm aims to cover the users simultaneously through many distributed access points (APs) over the same time/frequency resources based on time-division duplex (TDD) system. In this paper, the uplink spectral efficiency (SE) of a CF Massive MIMO system is investigated based on the stochastic geometry (SG) tool and over Rician fading channels. The distribution of APs is assumed to be random based on the Poisson point process (PPP) to emulate the real AP behavior over the mobile network which has not been considered previously. However, deploying the network's APs irregularly may worsen the phase noise effect and thus the SE of the system. The uplink SE of cell free massive MIMO is derived considering the maximum ratio combining (MRC) at the AP receivers and minimum mean-square error (MMSE) to estimate the channels stats. The simulation results have confirmed that CF Massive MIMO system provides higher SE gain when the APs density is unevenly and largely distributed. However, a considerable cost of the uplink SE is observed when the length of the uplink training period increases for the perfect Channel State Information (CSI) case. Moreover, the performance gap between the perfect and imperfect (CSI) converges when the uplink training increases.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116731689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper introduces an Autonomous System (AS) traceback mechanism based on probabilistic packet marking, which allows the victim to trace the attack-originating AS. Traceback on the AS level has several advantages containing a reduced number of routers involvement for packet marking as well as the required number of packets to infer the forward path. We utilize the IP packet header to implement our packet marking methodology. Our results show that a victim site can trace the attack path with 33.25 packets on average. Additionally, we provide an encoding method to significantly reduce the false cases in path reconstruction.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116115528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Underwater wireless sensor networks face a challenge in increasing lifetime and increased energy consumption with reduced maintenance. The study proposes introducing autonomous underwater vehicles called AUVs with low energy consumption during data transmission to the end-users. The research also proposes a protocol known as Fuzzy c referred to as clustering, which focuses on increasing the effectiveness of the wireless sensor network. The AUVs will aid in packet delivery ratio enhancement and reduction of the sensor network transmission delays. Additionally, the study compares the proposed protocol to be implemented in MATLAB with state-of-art similar algorithms. The study tries to illustrate the usefulness of the AUVs based on the energy consumption, data transmission, packet delivery ratio, packet loss ratio, time taken for packets delivery, and packets of data sent by the AUVs per round parameters. The research employs the IPv6 address scheme in sending packets rather than other internet protocol-based schemes. The research shows that using AUVs as a wireless underwater sensor network increases the effectiveness and efficiency of the data transmission to the users.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127204641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, we derive exact outage probability expressions for both near user and far user vehicles over Nakagami-m fading channels. We then analyze the asymptotic outage behavior in the high signal-to-noise ratio regime, from which valuable insights related to system’s diversity order are quantified. Furthermore, some special cases of interest are also formulated to quantify the impact of nodes’s mobility and/or CEE on the system’s outage performance. Analytical expressions of the average bit error rate and ergodic capacity for both near and far user vehicles are further derived under Nakagami-m fading channels. Finally, we corroborate our analytical findings with the numerical and simulation studies, and demonstrate the effects of transmit power, fading severity parameters, nodes’ mobility parameters, and CEE parameters on the system’s performance.","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131517197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our idea to implement this approach is based on the combination of artificial intelligence (AI) planning techniques and the semantic aspect describing the web service that will be composed. To this end, we will transform the web service composition problem into an AI planning problem. First, conversion of web service semantically described in OWL and OWL-S to an alternative problem and domain description specified in the planning domain description language (PDDL) is made. Then, a planner (AI Planner) using the Genetic Algorithm (GA) features will be invoked, by adapting the PDDL planning language actions to the GA rules, in order to generate the most optimal composition plan (sequence of PDDL actions), which solves the conceived service composition problem, having a goal to achieve (the intention) according to the problem domain description (context).","PeriodicalId":354985,"journal":{"name":"2021 4th International Conference on Advanced Communication Technologies and Networking (CommNet)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-12-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115042190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
