Author has analysed the content of the periodical published between 1953–1956 and presented examples of the regional press of the Kielce region published at that time. The analysis shows that the main center of cultural life was the Company’s Culture House, which was the central hub of all cultural events. Orosius believed in the existence of the kingdom of Amazons. He devoted a lot of space to the Amazons, because he saw them as relatives of the Goths. He wanted to show that the reality of his Christian’s times was no worse than the pagan’s past. Orosius summarized Epitome of Justin. Some names of queens of Amazons are different in Historia adversus paganus than in his source. These processes gave rise to distrust of the Polish administration and the Women’s League, which was identified with the new government. The indigenous people did not participate in public and social life. The League’s activists made sporadic attempts to include Silesian women in the work of the organization. In the years 1947–1981, the journal was published in the form of a bulletin, the content of which was intended solely for analysis by members of the organization in all branches of the Polish People’s Republic. On the other hand, since 1981, with the breakthrough in the country and the League of Women itself, “Nasza Praca” became an open monthly addressed to all Polish women, including those who are not members of the Women’s League. Bearing in mind the importance of the family, both historical and contemporary, this article presents and discusses selected legal acts enacted in the period of the People’s Republic of Poland, which protected the basic social cell, the family. The editions of the Chronicle, showing an over-colored and properly censored picture of reality, acted as a propaganda instrument of the PRL government, presenting the public with images that were to induce them to certain behaviors and adopt certain views. Depending on the political and economic situation of the country and the decisions made by the authorities, the image of women has changed many times over the years. Among the editions of the chronicle, the most common image is a woman as a mother and a worker. Pictures about mothers most often included individual stories of individuals devoted to raising their children, as well as issues of country infrastructure aimed at facilitating the functioning of working mothers. The Chronicle tried to convince women to take up professional work – often difficult professions, commonly considered to be the domain of men, such as a mine foreman, a steel worker, a bricklayer or a railwayman. The article used two science technique: 1) Exegesis sources, 2) Interview. An interesting theme in the biography of Lemańska was her annual activity of the organization Hashomer Hatzair. Despite the fact that press releases still largely portrayed the stereotypical perception of single women, significant changes were seen in the presentation of the image and position of unmarried women. It was particularly noticeable in the pages of Kobieta i Życie where more and more texts showed loneliness as a conscious choice of Polish women who decided to become independent, not from coercion or necessity.The article presents women’s opinions on the subject of single life, the reasons for which the decision was made to choose such a way of life and the way Polish society perceive unmarried women at the end of the Polish People’s Republic. The analysis was based on publications appearing in Kobieta i Życie.
