The meaning of a sentence depends primarily on the use of appropriate words. Confusion arises when there are multiple options (synonyms) available for a word. In this work, we introduce a vulnerability measure of a sentence that tries to define the amount of ambiguity due to the various options available for words used in the sentence. This measure facilitates the authors or copy editors to identify the vulnerable sentences in a document. Though the selection of appropriate words depends on the context, here we have just considered the synonyms of the words and defined the measure.","PeriodicalId":344188,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Current Trends towards Converging Technologies (ICCTCT)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125869213","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In these communication technologies, the signal's strength gets attenuated due to some obstacles in between communication process. In this paper, authors presented the analysis of the impact of various building materials on Wi-Fi signal strength in ISM 2.4GHz band. When a Wi-Fi signal leave a transmitting device then that signal passes through various materials it can be Air or any other solid materials which are seen as obstacle for a signals. The amount of degradation of strength in Wi-Fi signal depends upon the properties of materials such as hardness, Strength, Absorption from which it passes through. The aim of this paper is to put an experimental data of Wi-Fi signal strength with an obstacle in between the sender and receiver, and without an obstacle. We used various materials as an obstacles such as glass, wood and metal etc. and conducted experiment and measured the experimental data of how various materials affects the Wi-Fi Signal strength in ISM 2.4GHz band.","PeriodicalId":344188,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Current Trends towards Converging Technologies (ICCTCT)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124285836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To continue with the economic, technological and industrial development inspires the search for non-traditional energy sources like the solar, tidal, wind, geological i.e. geothermal energy sources, etc. Extraction of energy from these resources is based on factors like site, cost of installation, cost of production, transmission of power, etc. Wind energy source is one of the most promising and mature sources amongst the non traditional sources of energy. Particularly, offshore wind farms are more suitable for large scale production. However, long distances transmission of power is a matter of concern. High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) or High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) systems can be used for transmission of bulk power over long distances. This paper gives a summary of existing HVAC and HVDC systems. Also, it reviews various converter topologies used in HVDC transmission systems. It also discusses in detail MMC topology for HVDC transmission.","PeriodicalId":344188,"journal":{"name":"2018 International Conference on Current Trends towards Converging Technologies (ICCTCT)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122779582","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
