Insbesondere mangelt es an Untersuchungen, die Veränderungen von Kompetenzen im Verlauf der Berufsausbildung beleuchten. Daher werden, anknüpfend an die in der Literatur vorfi ndbaren Kompetenzmodellierungen für die gewerblich-technische und kaufmännische Berufsausbildung, Längsschnittdaten zur wirtschaftlichen Fachkompetenz angehender Bankkaufl eute (n = 452) mittels IRT-basierter Analysen und Strukturgleichungsmodellen ausgewertet. Die Zunahme von sowohl allgemein- als auch bankwirtschaftlicher Kompetenz im Ausbildungsverlauf führt zu einer geringe- ren Besetzung des untersten von vier Kompetenzniveaus, wohingegen die beiden oberen Niveaus Zuwächse verzeichnen. Bezüglich der Strukturierung wirtschaftlicher Fachkompetenz erweist sich neben der Unterscheidung allgemein- und bankwirtschaftlicher Kompetenz eine Dimensionierung nach Fallsituationen, die Anforderungen nach typischen Situationen des Bankalltags bündeln, als empirisch am tragfähigsten. Im Verlauf der Ausbildung werden die Zusammenhänge zwischen den Kompetenzdimensionen stärker, sodass die einzelnen Auszubildenden zum Ende der Ausbildung relativ ähnliche Leistungen in den Teilbereichen zeigen. A BSTRACT : So far, only a few studies have been conducted on dimensions and levels of vocational competence. In particular, there is a lack of studies on changes of competences during vocational education. Therefore, taking up existing competence models for industrial-technical and commer- cial vocational education, longitudinal data on the economic competence of prospective bankers (n = 452) are analysed using IRT-based methods and structural equation modelling. The growth of both general and banking economic competence leads to a smaller number of trainees on the lowest of four competence levels, whereas the two upper levels record gains. In addition to the distinction of general and banking economic competence a differentiation according to situations, which bundle up the requirements of typical everyday bank situations, proves empirically viable. Beicht, Günter Walden","doi":"10.25162/zbw-2014-0012","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.25162/zbw-2014-0012","url":null,"abstract":"Starting from the well documented fact that young people from migrant families are less successful in the transition from school to initial vocational education and training than non-migrants, we, in this paper, analyze the infl uence of social class on this transition difference. The central question is whether the difference in the transition between migrants and non-migrants can be mainly explained by inherent differences in social class or if migration background has an independent infl uence on transition. Our results show, fi rst, that the educational aspirations of migrants and non-migrants clearly differ at the end of the school career. Migrants without access to tertiary education are signifi cantly less interested in an apprenticeship or in other forms of fully qualifying vocational education and training than non-migrants, while migrants with access to tertiary education even more frequently apply for vocational education and training than the respective group of non-migrants. Social class has an infl uence on educational aspiration but does not eliminate the independent effect of migration background. Second, our results confi rm that the success of transition to vocational education and training differs strongly between migrants and non-migrants. However, a negative effect of migration background can only be shown for migrants without access to tertiary education. Migrants who have access to tertiary education have the same transition chances as the respective group of non-migrants.
