The blunting process is decomposed in two sub-processes connected in parallel, both viewed as distributed parameters processes and modeled through equations with partial derivatives. The mathematical model of the two sub-processes considers the delays introduced by the liquids circulation in the plant. The modeling-simulation procedure is an application of the matrix of partial derivatives of the state vector (Mpdx) method associated with Taylor series.","PeriodicalId":304729,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 8th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125668756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using this algorithm we obtain a graph structure which makes possible the clustering of data elements into classes in an efficient way. In the same time our algorithm gives a new method for reducing the dimension of the feature space. In this way also the visualization of the clusters becomes possible in lower dimensional cases. The results of this type of clustering can be used also for classification of new data elements. We show how the method works on real problems and compare our results to those of other algorithms which are applied to the same dataset.","PeriodicalId":304729,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 8th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128931600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In various circumstances not classification accuracy but misclassification cost minimsation is the primary goal leading to the development of cost-sensitive classification algorithms. In this paper, we show how evolutionary algorithms, in particular genetic algorithms (GAs), can be employed optimise to cost-sensitive classifiers and classifier ensembles. In particular, we discuss how GAs can be employed to derive a compact set of fuzzy if-then rules with an embedded cost term, and how GAs are able to perform simultaneous classifier selection and fusion for ensemble classifiers.","PeriodicalId":304729,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 8th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"402 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123527197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Starting from the definition of the Petri network, a clear definition of submodels of such networks is proposed by the authors. The use of submodels in DES' analysis is exemplified by modeling of decision nodes of intelligent transport systems that are an integral part of flexible manufacturing systems. Starting from a particular model of a node with two inputs and two outputs, the authors propose a generalization of such a complex node, by proposing a model based on submodels for a node with n inputs and m outputs.","PeriodicalId":304729,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 8th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122064637","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Pattern classification approaches often have difficulties with breast cancer related datasets as the available training data are typically imbalanced with many more benign cases recorded than malignant ones, leading to a bias in the classification and insufficient sensitivity. In this paper, we present an ensemble classification algorithm that addresses this problem by employing cost-sensitive decision trees as base classifiers which are trained on random feature subspaces to ensure diversity, and an evolutionary algorithm for simultaneous classifier selection and fusion. Experimental results on two different breast cancer datasets confirm our approach to work well and to provide boosted sensitivity compared to various other state-of-the-art ensembles.","PeriodicalId":304729,"journal":{"name":"2013 IEEE 8th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116441457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
