Only a very minor dimensional change to the optical train is required to separate the operation of a number of ports to be used for the monitoring application. The monitor ports can switch independently of the WSS and can even operate on different channel bandwidths or Grids. The independently filtered light path can be made available for power measurements in the first case or for full signal quality measurements.","PeriodicalId":298721,"journal":{"name":"OFC/NFOEC 2008 - 2008 Conference on Optical Fiber Communication/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-02-24","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125063114","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
