Specifically, by systematically reviewing relevant theories and existing research results, this paper proposes a logical idea of “lean production, production technology improvement — quality management — production performance”, discusses and proposes relevant research hypotheses according to the relationship between variables in the theoretical model, and sends out questionnaires to Chinese high-tech manufacturing companies on a large scale, and recovers 425 questionnaires. The incomplete or invalid questionnaires with obvious errors were eliminated, and 411 valid questionnaires were finally obtained. The statistical analysis software SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 were used for reliability analysis, validity analysis, exploratory factor analysis, typical correlation analysis of the collected data, multiple linear regression analysis model and mediation effect model was established. Test the theoretical paper. In this paper, a total of 7 research hypotheses are proposed, among which 7 hypotheses are supported by the survey data. Combining qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, this paper draws the following conclusions: (1) Lean production has a significant positive impact on the production performance of high-tech manufacturing companies; (2) The improvement of production technology has a significant positive effect on the production performance of high-tech manufacturing companies; (3) Quality management has a significant positive effect on the production performance of high-tech manufacturing companies; (4) Quality management has a partial mediating effect between lean production and production performance of high-tech manufacturing companies; (5) Quality management plays a partial mediating role between production technology improvement and production performance of high-tech manufacturing companies.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124019533","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To meet the goal of this study, we used the Pooled Mean Group (PMG) estimator, which requires long run coefficients to be similar but allows short run coefficients and error variances to fluctuate among groups. The sample of the study is composed of 7 countries, with Guinea-Bissau excluded, due to the absence of data on the period from 1980-2016. The results revealed that urbanization has a positive effect on banking development in the WAEMU. This intuitive relationship is linked to the fact that, as the urban population grows, the relative demand for financial services also grows. Also, industrialization has a good impact on banking development. In terms of policy implications, the study calls on governments to create the necessary conditions for successful urbanization to benefit the development of banks in the WAEMU zone.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117129952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Chowdhury, Tanseer Hossain","doi":"10.58970/ijsb.2093","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.58970/ijsb.2093","url":null,"abstract":"It has been self-evident that consumers are essential stakeholders in companies, and their satisfaction is management’s top concern. In recent years especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, the usage of online food delivery applications has drastically increased along with the embracement of new technologies in almost every corner of Bangladesh. Thus, with increased competition in the market, quality of service has become an essential aspect of customer satisfaction. Considering the hazard of COVID-19, the World Health Organization (WHO) strictly emphasizes on maintenance of hygiene along with other guidelines. The relationship between customer satisfaction with hygiene factors has been confirmed by some researchers, although few studies have been conducted solely on the topic. This descriptive research aims to identify and examine the relationship between customer satisfaction and hygiene factors while ordering food online during COVID-19 in Bangladesh. A combination of simple random sampling under the probability sampling techniques and snowball sampling under the nonprobability sampling techniques has been used to collect quantitative data from customers of Dhaka city. Reliability tests, Multiple regression analyses, and Pearson correlation have been conducted with the help of SPSS to analyze the data. Findings suggest that hygiene factors should be prioritized to ensure customer satisfaction. Quality of food and packaging of food has been found to be two of the most important variables under hygiene factors from this study. It has provided results that could be useful to managers and employees in the online food delivery industry for strategic planning and to achieve a sustainable business model.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"124 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115469335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The country with the highest migration rate in east Africa is Sudan, where there are about 0.24 million migrants every year. Seychelles has the fewest migrants, with only 5,000 people. Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda are the countries that get the most donations. South Africa is the nation in the South African area that receives the highest levels of emigration and remittances, with an emigration rate of 0.13 million and repatriated profits of 489.6 million US dollars. In Botswana, transfers and emigration are at their lowest levels. In our statistical analysis, the Hotelling test statistic shows the population mean vector with migration and remittances for various countries in East Africa, South Africa, and West Africa. It produces statistically significant results at the 5% level in MANOVA analyses for the equality of means test for the nations of all three regions. To construct a panel regression model on the data, the data analysis was assisted by the LM test statistic and a fixed-effect model. Panel data analysis can help identify the yearly average number of migrants and the amount of remittance in different respected regions. Migration has a significant impact on remittances, and the inability of time-series migration data to be time-series migrated is one of the study’s main constants. One can use a simulation study to get fruitful results.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130299214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research aims to examine the correlation between banking sector assets, bank deposits, and liquid liabilities and their implications for the economy. A comprehensive survey was conducted, targeting all commercial banks in South Sudan. The questionnaire was completed by 50 directors, managers, and senior officers. The findings showed a tenuous inverse link between consumer deposits and economic expansion. To address these concerns, it is imperative for the government to establish a stable political system, exercise fiscal discipline, and establish effective information infrastructure within the banking sector. Policymakers should also prioritize tackling tax evasion and avoidance to bolster bank profitability and effectively deal with the challenges faced by the economy.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116537628","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, a large number of city/urban areas have sprung up in Bangladesh, where daily production of solid waste is rather high. Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) is a recently built city with 33 wards in the northern region of Bangladesh. Only 15 of them out of the total practice solid waste management. The essential area of RpCC is covered by these 15 wards. This study aims to detail the solid waste management procedure as well as the current state of various garbage dumping locations inside the research region. In order to evaluate and keep track of the trash dumping places, the primary data was directly gathered via field survey in order to assess and monitor the waste dumping points. Besides, additional data/information were collected from books, journal, and websites. This study suggests the lean tool kanban and visual management to keep the solid waste management process standard and keep on the road of continuous improvement. Kanban is very helpful to avoid breakdown of solid waste management process. On the other hand, visual management also can take a part to make the solid waste management easier and more helpful to avoid any fault in this process by its implementation.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130903865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rahman, Krishna Shaha","doi":"10.58970/ijsb.2204","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.58970/ijsb.2204","url":null,"abstract":"The main aim of this research is to figure out how fundamental and macroeconomic factors affect stock returns in Bangladesh. Five companies out of seven that are listed on the DSE and are part of the cement industry were randomly selected for this purpose. The companies involved are Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Limited, Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Limited, Premier Cement Mills Limited, Crown Cement PLC, and Meghna Cement Mills Limited. All the data were gathered as time series on a monthly basis, spanning the years 2012 through 2021. For the sake of the study's objective, some fundamental and macroeconomic factors are identified and incorporated into the framework of multiple regressions. In addition to these fundamental factors, which include debt to equity, return on asset (ROA), return on equity (ROE), price earnings (P/E) ratio, and earnings per share (EPS), macroeconomic factors, e.g., inflation (INF), gross domestic product (GDP), interest rate (INT), money supply (M2), foreign direct investment (FDI), and exchange rate (EX), are also considered. According to the study's overall findings, among key variables, Lafarge Holcim Bangladesh Ltd. and Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Limited both had positive and statistically significant EPS and PE ratios, whereas Crown Cement PLC only had a positive and statistically significant PE ratio. However, only inflation was determined to have a negative and statistically significant effect on Meghna Cement Mills Ltd. among all sample companies. None of the fundamental or macroeconomic factors was found to be statistically significant in the case of Premier Cement Mills Limited. Since it includes a wide range of macroeconomic variables in addition to the selected fundamental variables, this study stands out from others for listed firms within the cement industry of DSE, Bangladesh. Such a study would be more beneficial if it took into account more exogenous variables and stocks that are listed in or outside of this sector. This study's entire data analysis was carried out with the use of the statistical software Eviews version 10.","PeriodicalId":297563,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Science and Business","volume":"200 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130332508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
