They are usually deployed in harsh and mobile environments, with tasks ranging from just collecting environment readings to highly crucial tasks like tracking an enemy vehicle. This means the sensor networks can monitor or sense a very wide range of parameters and tasks. However, all these measurements and events that are read by the sensors are never of equal importance. So we propose PR-MAC, which provides a scheme in which we prioritize the events that are being recognized. Our aim is to design a MAC layer protocol which would reduce the delay of transmitting high priority tasks or measurements.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"169 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115317377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although a lot of academic research has been done in the recent years on these topics, contributions and discussions tend to stay within a single field of policy analysis. The fundamental factors in the operation of electrical power systems, at a macro level, are distribution of the operation parameters over vast areas, dominance of human factors and high dimensionality of the problem. Distributed economic operation is a new area of research. This paper extends that research to the management of information distributed in the power network to make it useful for short term economic operation.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121186144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The UPS supplies the mean power to PC load connected to it, but this combination of LIPS and PC load works as a harmonic source. This paper reports some experimental measurement results about harmonic currents generated by single and multiple personal computer (PC) loads connected with UPS, as in most practical conditions the UPS is found connected to PC load. Furthermore, to investigate the impact of UPS connected with PC load, a comparative study is also presented, where measurements are taken under two different conditions, i.e. PC load without UPS and with UPS. Two processing modes are investigated, i.e. idle mode, and hard disc drive (HDD) processing mode. The measurements taken for these two processing modes are combined with two different conditions of monitor status: with monitor power ON and with monitor power OFF. Parameters considered for investigation are mis load current, its harmonic distortion, power consumption and harmonic spectrum of load current. Attenuation of harmonic components due to multiplicity of PC load is also studied.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121349471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We developed a technique to remove the artefacts due to head motion during brain CT scanning. The motion of head was modelled as rigid body motion. We simulated the CT data of a moving phantom and recorded the motion information. The motion information was used to correct the CT data (sinogram) before reconstructing the image from it. The images reconstructed from this corrected sinogram were free of motion artefacts. This technique is expected to work successfully for the brain CT scanning. The motion information can be collected by an infrared motion tracking system.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125208899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Universal Serial Bus 2.0 system consists of host control chip and equipment interface control chip, i.e. peripheral devices chip. The traditional USB developing is only to develop USB peripheral devices. Peripheral device chips consist of USB2.0 transceiver macrocell interface (UTMI) circuits and interface protocol control circuits. On developing USB2.0 equipment interface control chip IP core, some hardware codes of designed peripheral devices chip need be validated, which can be completed by self-designed UTMI codes. But this simulation validating process will become very complex because self-designed UTMI codes are not always correct. In addition, this kind of simulation validation system also needs a host. Combining with actual project, this paper presents a set of detailed methods to design a validation system for simulating all kind of signal of USB2.0 interface protocol circuits, proposed methods were involved with configuring circumstance, designing test modules, processing signal transmission, developing additional tasks, introducing presented actual verification method for some main signal packages and correlative verification output results, and etc. Simulation verification results show these methods are valid, so can offer the reference for development of USB2.0 system in all kinds of electronics instrumentations.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133966943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

RF and LO signals are applied through bandpass and lowpass filters respectively. The mixer operates in C-Band and downconverts a Hock of frequencies (5.925 GHz -6.425 GHz) to a block of frequencies (3.7 GHz - 4.2 GHz) using a fixed frequency local oscillator at 2.225 GHz. The proposed mixer structure achieves double balanced functionality with a single diode and obviates the need for RF and LO baluns. The measured conversion loss ranges from 8 -10 dB and port isolations are in excess of 60 dB.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"159 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123004278","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even a single mode fiber comprises of two modes, an input pulse is splitted along fast axis (x-axis) and slow axis (y-axis). The splitting of single pulse into two pulses and being propagated at suitable intensities inside a single mode fiber makes it undergo various non-linear phenomena. Proper management of the above mentioned non-linear phenomenon can make them useful for the communication systems. One very important phenomenon is utilization of Kerr effect into a fast saturable absorber action. The fast saturable absorber action can be utilized to formulate a self starting passively mode locked ring fiber laser. Study of pulse propagation in birefringent medium has been carried out using adaptive step size method Adaptive step size method is proven for efficient and accurate results.","PeriodicalId":291800,"journal":{"name":"2007 International Conference on Electrical Engineering","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2007-04-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125428116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
