This paper presents a sub mapping method, which partitions a large scale dataset into disjointed subsets and adjusts them one by one or in parallel. Pair-wise sub maps are then \"stitched\" together by applying a similarity transformation. Both simulations and real applications show that our method scales well. Poisson image editing technique is widely used in the object-scene fusion and a new method based on IHS transform has also been offered recently. Unfortunately, both of these two means might cause color distortion. Through introducing the SFIM technique and combining with IHS transform, this paper proposes a new algorithm based on IHS transform and SFIM for the fusion of object and scene. It utilizes the SFIM technique to fuse the intensity under the IHS color space. In this paper, we focus on object localization in a given special category dataset. We propose to exploit the context aware category discovery for object localization without any labeled examples. Firstly, the image is segmented based on a multiple segmentation algorithm. Secondly, these generated regions are clustered by spectral clustering method to find the category pattern based on the context of the dataset and the saliency. Thirdly, the object is localized based on the weakly supervised learning algorithm. To justify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the detection precision is employed to evaluate the performance of our approach. This paper applies structural similarity (SSIM) based subjective distortion to RDO-based intra mode decision in H.264 I frame coding, and further proposes a frame layer adaptive Lagrange multiplier adjustment scheme to get better tradeoff between rate and SSIM distortion. In order to reduce obvious structural distortion, in this paper, we analyze the correlation of SSIM (Structural Similarity) component functions with MOS (Mean Opinion Score) on an optical remote sensing compression distortion image database, conclude that SSIM should be substituted by its component function in optical remote sensing image compression assessment. After that, we utilize the component function to design a quantization approach, and apply it to an embedded wavelet image coder. Edge detection algorithms reduce the amount of image data to be processed, because only essential information is preserved. There are several approaches for edge detection, one of them is based on Cellular Neural Networks (CNNs). The parallel nature of CNNs makes them suitable to be implemented on a reconfigurable device, such as Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). An FPGA implementation of CNNs achieves high performance and flexibility due to fine-grain parallelism of the FPGA-based implementations. CNNs can perform both linear and nonlinear image processing tasks, such as filtering, threshold, various mathematical morphology operations, edge detection, corner detection, etc., but in this paper only the edge detection problem is addressed. Firstly, on-line signatures are represented by a series of graphs, whose nodes and edges describe certain properties at sample points and relationship between points respectively. Then, graph matching techniques are introduced to compute edit distance between graphs, which measures the similarity of graphs. Finally, having been able to compare any two signatures through the last two steps, user-dependent classifiers are trained using limited genuine signatures. It is natural to utilize hand-skin color to detect hands in images. However, skin-color feature is sensitive to variations in illumination, and occurrence of shadow. Therefore, color correction plays an important role for skin-color based detection algorithms. But classical Retinex method is not suitable for correcting hand-skin-color because that hand is a very uniform region. To deal with this problem, we propose to utilize an advanced color correction method: RACE. The RACE algorithm is a combination of Random Spray Retinex (RSR) and Automatic Color Equalization (ACE). Based on the corrected colors, we employ the Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) to describe the skin-colors. In order to overcome the problem, this paper proposes a method based on wavelet features for target tracking. According to the previous information obtained by Kalman filter, the possible location of the target in the frame is predicted. Multi-scale two-dimensional discrete wavelet is used to decompose the possible area in which the target exists. And then the mean and variance of the decomposed image are computed. Finally, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to build an effective subspace. The target is matched to realize the tracking by measuring the similarity function.
