Emotional and physical needs at this time include love and security, a sense of trust, warmth and comfort, and feeding and sucking pleasure. All Infants undergo many painful procedures during their life as they are taking many immunizations. Pain is an uncomfortable sensation or feeling. Babies cannot tell us about their pain in words like older children, but they do give us clues by certain behaviors. Vaccination of children is must for the children and maximum injections are during infancy period itself. The route of hepatitis B vaccine is intramuscular route. In the current study, pain level of infants is assessed during intramuscular vaccination of hepatitis B. Intramuscular (IM) injection is a medical process, often accompanied by pain and distress in children. IM injection is a minor invasive procedure, but for children, it is also accompanied by pain, fear, and anxiety. Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual or potential tissue damage. Thus, the reduction of such pain and distress becomes the responsibility of health-care professionals to an extent as possible while maintaining patient safety using various pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions.[1]","PeriodicalId":274276,"journal":{"name":"Indian Journal of Nursing Sciences","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133753809","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Introduction: Globally current waste and resource management lacks a holistic approach covering the whole chain of product design, raw material extraction, production, consumption, recycling, and waste management. About 85% waste is generated by health-care activities in general from non-hazardous waste and 15% is considered hazardous material that may be infectious, toxic, or radioactive. Methods: Pre-experimental design and 50 subjects were selected for this study. Structured knowledge questionnaire was used and analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics using Chi-square and t-test. Results: The findings revealed that in post-test majority of the study subjects 43 (86%) had good knowledge, 7 (14%) had average knowledge and none of them had poor knowledge with post-test mean score (44.04 ± 6.141) is significantly higher than the mean pre-test knowledge scores (24.50 ± 8.428), with a mean difference of (19.540). Aims: The aim of the study was to find the effectiveness of awareness package on knowledge and attitude and to correlate knowledge and attitude regarding prevention and management of elderly health problems among adults. Methodology: Pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was used. Non-probability purposive sampling technique was used to select 60 adults. Data were collected using structured knowledge questionnaire and 3 point Likert scale. Results: The mean knowledge score in pre-test was 16.03 with SD = 3.57 and the mean attitude score was 38.10 with SD = 2.79. Whereas in the post-test mean knowledge score was found 25.38 with SD = 1.99 and attitude score was 45.10 with SD = 2.46. Progressive muscle relaxation technique, a complementary approach to pain relief, is a form of body work that focuses primarily on the feet. Methodology: A quasi-experimental study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation technique on pain among cancer patients receiving radiation therapy. Totally, 60 samples were selected by non-probability purposive sampling technique, among them, 30 were in the experimental group and 30 samples were in the control group. The investigator implemented progressive muscle relaxation technique for 15 days with the duration of 20–30 min. The level of pain was assessed using numerical pain intensity rating scale. The data gathered were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistical method. Results: The finding revealed that, in the experimental group, the post-test mean score was 4.10 ± 1.63 and, in the control group, the mean score was 7.13 ± 2.11 with the mean difference of 3.03. The independent “t”-test value (t = 6.23) is highly significant. The paired “t”-test value (t = 8.24) revealed that progressive muscle relaxation technique was effective in reducing the pain. In the experimental group, there is a significant association found between the post-test level of pain and the variables such as age (χ² = 9.47), occupational status (χ² = 12.44), and stage of cancer (χ² = 9.83). Anticoagulant drugs have an important role in the treatment and prevention of blood clots. Anticoagulants, which are considered “high alert medications,” can often lead to adverse drug events in the inpatient and outpatient health-care setting if not managed appropriately. Many of anticoagulation-associated adverse effects result from medication errors, suggesting they are preventable. To avoid these issues, all healthcare workers who prescribe anticoagulants need to educate the patient and the family. Aims: This study aimed to examine the effect of pamphlet on knowledge regarding selected anticoagulation therapy among cardiac patients. Materials and Methods: A descriptive evaluative research approach with one group pre-test and post-test research design was used for the study. The study was conducted at Mumbai district. The sample comprised of 50 cardiac patient who fulfilled the inclusion criteria for the sample selection. Sample was selected using non-probability convenient sampling technique. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. In that Paired t-test to assess the effect of pamphlet on knowledge regarding selected anticoagulation therapy among cardiac patients. Results: The result of this study showed that the pre-test the mean of the knowledge obtained by the cardiac patients was 12.600 and in posttest it increased to 21.260.
