The deterministic labeled graph with the fewest vertices presenting an irreducible SFT (called the Shannon cover) is obtained, in general, via a two-step procedure: The first step is to generate an initial deterministic presentation, and the second one is to apply a vertex-minimization algorithm to identify classes of equivalent vertices. We propose in this paper an algorithm to generate the Shannon cover of a SFT that firstly identify classes of follower set equivalent words derived from the collection of all first offenders. This identification is not based on the allowable sequences obtained from an initial presentation, as is usually done. Having defined the equivalence classes (or the vertices of the minimal presentation) we apply a procedure to connect the vertices and label the edges that yields the essential component of the follower set graph of the SFT.","PeriodicalId":271294,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Telecommunications Symposium","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116909495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wideband and narrowband channel capacity and several channel parameters were evaluated from the measured data. In this paper, we compare the capacity of binders under different crosstalk-mitigating techniques. When computing capacity, we also compare two different power constraints: either on the total power in the binder or on the power in each pair. We will see that, for the scenarios considered in this paper, the fact that the signals are jointly processed in one or both ends of the DSL link leads to roughly the same performance, which is far superior to that of systems with no cooperation between the users. Both power constraints also lead to similar achievable rates.","PeriodicalId":271294,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Telecommunications Symposium","volume":"178 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128353006","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a previous paper, a framework for such a scheme was proposed, using only local channel information. In the framework each cell competes for access through a credit that is a function of the signal to noise ratio of its scheduled user. Access is then given to a cell with a probability dependent on the access function. In [1] an ad-hoc choice of function was formulated. In this work we investigate which access function actually optimizes the system capacity, utilizing a numerical optimization procedure. We obtain a surprsingly simple solution which also corroborates previous results. For a realistic path loss model we find that our multicell distributed access scheme gives a 19% gain compared to having all cells on, and more than a 50% increase in system capacity compared to keeping a traditional static spectral reuse scheme.","PeriodicalId":271294,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Telecommunications Symposium","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128683333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To analyze its efficiency, it's necessary to determine the phase, attenuation and effective dielectric constants. In order to analyze the behavior of the structure with this substrate, the full wave TTL (Transversal Transmission Line) method is used. On the other hand, it demands very strict QoS control, which becomes even more complicated in wireless networks, because packets can be lost due to radio link transmission errors, as well as network congestion. Within this paradigm, scheduling strategies appear as the most suitable solution to cope with QoS guarantees under high loads, where the resources should be carefully distributed among the users in order to fulfill their QoS requirements. This work comprises the proposal and evaluation of some scheduling algorithms aiming to improve system capacity and QoS guarantees for speech users in HSDPA. The results show that the scheduling algorithms that mix fairness with channel information to get improvements of the multi-user diversity provide the best performance.","PeriodicalId":271294,"journal":{"name":"2006 International Telecommunications Symposium","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122651241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
