It is essential for dietitians to have a program or software that they can connect to, and easily access data for proper assessment of nutritional status and food composition. Aims. Our objective was to design a digital platform for nutritional intervention (named “Nutrition ARTS”) to facilitate the nutritional care process and pinpoint the benefits it may bring to dietitians. Methods. The platform has been made available on both desktop or phone, and a total of 58 undergraduate and graduate students from the university of Targu Mures (GEP UMPhST) were granted access to use all its features. As a research method, an online survey was distributed to the users through email (also made directly available from the platform). Results. The platform’s features mentioned in the questionnaire were considered helpful. All the respondents stated that they intend to use Nutrition ARTS in their professional practice and would be likely to suggest it to other colleagues. Conclusions. Romanian dietitians have shown a significant level of interest in digital practice, and it is vital that they have access to a platform with as many facilities as possible to help them with their work and improve professional performance.","PeriodicalId":263837,"journal":{"name":"Health, Sports & Rehabilitation Medicine","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125213773","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on remedial sport activities, this educational project aims to involve pupils from primary/junior high school who are often the target of isolation and lack of communication due to the mistrust of others in their abilities. Through the individual skills sports competitions organized for this group of beneficiaries, we wanted to demonstrate to families and members of close communities that these people can and want to do sports, even if they are not capable of performing, and that through these remedial sports activities self-esteem and confidence in their own strengths increases considerably. Among students with special education needs who have higher physical abilities and who come from foster homes, special schools, or are integrated into mainstream schools, there are athletes who have a higher degree of independence and social skills, who can do team sports and interact with those around them more easily, but who need movement to maintain a healthy lifestyle and interaction with members of their communities to demonstrate the qualities and skills acquired through regular training and participation in sports competitions. Social integration, belonging to a group, collegiality, team spirit, increased self-esteem, the pleasure of moving in an organized environment and taking part in a sport competition are among the major effects that this project had on the students.","PeriodicalId":263837,"journal":{"name":"Health, Sports & Rehabilitation Medicine","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122992414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

CrossFit, a sports branch based on complex exercises and functional movements performed at high intensity, formed the basis of our work, namely HIIT training (High-intensity interval training). Aims. The main objective of our study was to specify the musculoskeletal level of the human body most easily and frequently affected. An important aspect was to assess the incidence rate of injuries associated with CrossFit training. Methods. The present systematic review was designed between October 2021 and April 2022 according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) standards using PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science databases. Results. The initial search identified 50 titles in the databases described above, of which seven duplicate articles were automatically removed. The remaining 43 articles were analysed by title and abstract for relevance, resulting in a further 12 studies being removed. After eliminations in the eligibility phase, a total of 12 articles were included in the study. Conclusions. Studies have shown us that the rate of shoulder injuries ranged from around 40-43% of all injuries. The lumbar spine and knees are easily affected areas, but there is a (lower) incidence in other joints of the human body.","PeriodicalId":263837,"journal":{"name":"Health, Sports & Rehabilitation Medicine","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124235476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As in any other branch of sport, in dance sport, as a result of competitive activity (increasingly intense in recent years), winners are designated, rankings, hierarchies, tops are made, based on more or less objective decisions of the adjudicators, who judge several aspects. In its early stages, judging in dance sports was achieved by comparing pairs that evolved simultaneously on the ring. Following this comparison, using an algorithm for processing the individual evaluations of the adjudicators (Skating system) it was decided who goes further in the competition or the places obtained by the athletes in the final. With the increase in the number of the couples participating in competitions, this comparative evaluation system was overwhelmed, requiring a modern evaluation system based on scoring the evolution of pairs, thus giving rise to a judging software that solves the shortcomings of the initial models. Aims. Our paper wishes to present a judging program derived from the latest judging systems developed by WDSF. This has been successfully adapted to online competitions held in the last months of 2020, in the context of the Covid 19 pandemic, through which the dance sport phenomenon remained alive, motivating athletes to prepare and further improve. Methods. The judging program is an application consisting of JavaScript files running in Chrome, using php programming language and MySQL database. We also wanted to point out that the use of this judging system brings an extra objectivity in the evaluation, constituting at the same time a tool for optimizing the training of the athletes. Results. Most of the participants in our survey confessed that they were not at all satisfied with the old system of judgment (%); it was very opportune to create such a program (%), and the information provided by the software will help them “a lot” in their professional activity. The benefits of the new judging system are the following: more objective evaluation, provides information on artistic and technical training factors, creates the possibility to identify some gaps in the training of dancers, a better image of sport dance. Conclusions. The purpose for which this judging system was created, namely the increase of the objectivity in the evaluation of the dancers, has been achieved. The adjudicators have more time than in a live competition to review the participating pairs and their evolution for a more objective evaluation. These aspects have had a positive impact on the image of dance sport. This system permitted the survival of competitive activity also during the pandemic.","PeriodicalId":263837,"journal":{"name":"Health, Sports & Rehabilitation Medicine","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129384003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the last 20 years, the survival rate in pediatric cancer patients has increased considerably, raising awareness about fertility and life quality. It is well known that physical activity plays an important role in cancer prevention and rehabilitation. Aims. The current study aimed to raise awareness about oncofertility and poor fertility counselling, highlighting the need for improvement and whether or not physical activity should be introduced as a rehabilitation method in cancer patients. Methods. Of 125 female patients, only 30 were included in the study after applying the inclusion criteria. The subjects received a questionnaire containing 14 questions about their fertility status, oncologic treatment, and rehabilitation counselling. Results. The results showed that more than 86% of the subjects did not receive rehabilitation counselling, including fertility preservation methods and physical activity, and 80% could not conceive after cancer treatment. The results were statistically insignificant (p>0.05) because of the small number of subjects included in the study. Conclusions. The lack of rehabilitation counselling leads to an increase in infertility and a decrease in life quality. Rehabilitation through physical activity should become a standard care option for these patients, improving mental and physical health.","PeriodicalId":263837,"journal":{"name":"Health, Sports & Rehabilitation Medicine","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125719307","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cerebral palsy is one of the most important causes of disability in children. Intensive rehabilitation in cerebral palsy is personalized in accord with the deficits, activity limitations and participation restrictions, but an early etiological and clinical diagnosis in a multidisciplinary approach, to differentiate cerebral palsy from other causes of neurodevelopmental disorders, is required to direct the pharmacological approach and prognosis. Aims. This paper presents the first study on a Romanian population in terms of the most relevant cerebral palsy risk factors and their relation to the age when cerebral palsy was diagnosed, aiming to support a possible early diagnosis prediction model. Method. Retrospective study conducted on a group of 320 children diagnosed with developmental disorder admitted to the Department for Children Neuro-Psychomotor Rehabilitation of the Psychiatry Hospital in Sibiu during 2015-2018. Results. The number of neurodevelopmental disorders generated by cerebral palsy in the examined group is relatively small (11.56%). The highest proportion of neurodevelopmental disorders in children with cerebral palsy (according to the subsequent diagnosis) was seen in children born under 30 weeks of pregnancy, exhibiting perinatal intracranial hemorrhage and displaying increased muscle tone and seizures. Conclusions. The study establishes correlations between the variables assessed, which may point to a formula for predicting the diagnosis of cerebral palsy in children initially examined for a developmental disorder.","PeriodicalId":263837,"journal":{"name":"Health, Sports & Rehabilitation Medicine","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127250975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
