The unit cell of the proposed 3-D FSS contains one modified parallel-plate waveguide (MPPW) propagation path and one SCW propagation path. The MPPW path is created by employing a centered via hole. Thus, two transmission poles are produced by odd- and even-mode coupling. The third transmission pole was generated by the square slot resonance in SCW path. After properly adjusting the location of three poles, two passbands with close band spacing are obtained, and the band ratio is 1.31. Owing to the E-filed vectors in different paths are out of phase at the output port, two transmission zeros are introduced for improving frequency selectivity. The E-field analysis of the transmission zeros/poles is presented to explain the operating principle of the proposed 3-D FSS. The proposed wide-beam antenna array can offer a narrow beamwidth in elevation and a wide beamwidth in azimuth. The series-fed patches are constructed and laterally loaded with parasitic strips. The current direction of the parasitic strips is opposite to the patch current, resulting in gain cancelation and wide beamwidth in the H-plane radiation pattern. In the proposed structure, by etching slots on the patch, the ground, and the feedline, a triple-band-notched characteristic at the WLAN, WiMAX and X-band frequencies is obtained. Then, by introducing switch modes on the slots, the antenna offers eight working modes and can realize an interconversion between UWB, UWB with single-band-notched characteristic, UWB with dual-band-notched characteristic, and UWB with triple-band-notched characteristic. In this paper, the FEXT can be mitigated significantly by inserting rectangular-shape resonators (RSR) structures in the coupled microstrip transmission lines where defected microstrip structures (DMS) are etched on the lines. The frequency domain simulation of HFSS shows that the S41 of this proposed structure is decreased more than 16dB around 3.2GHz, compared with the traditional signal routing. The time domain simulation of ADS shows that the peak of FEXT voltage of this structure is improved to 89% compared to the traditional signal routing. It has been successfully demonstrated by simulation and comparison with all previous techniques that, this novel technique gives the best optimum low values for the peak voltage of FEXT. The heterostructure dielectric parameters were analyzed. The new planar line is designated as a composite ML/CPW line that owns a unique feature of dual signal path on a single dielectric slab. By employing meander or zigzagging line sections for the design of RF/microwave circuits such as power divider, the substrate slab area can be significantly reduced when compared with conventional planar transmission lines.
