It is a political and socio-economic center, where attracting planners’ and environmentalist’s interests. Nowadays, Hanoi has been facing problems of rapid urbanization as many major cities in developing countries. The Ancient Quarter is a former commercial activity that plays an important role in the economic activities of Hanoi. All activities are occurring on almost streets of this specific area. Especially, Đồng Xuân market the biggest in the city, is located here, delivering goods to suburbs of Hanoi and other provinces. These problematic housing issues in Hanoi today are logic consequences of a complicated and constantly changing process of housing provision in different socioeconomic context. Therefore, without historical and holistic perspectives, housing issues in Hanoi cannot be understood thoroughly, so that rational and realistic resolution would not be developed. This paper aims to provide a deep view of housing issues and tube-house (shop-house) heritage in Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia respectively. To enhance conservation strategy and improve “spirit” protection of Ancient Quarter towards a better living environment to year 2025, a micro frame-work for tube-house preservation covering “Insite - to - Outside” approaches is proposed accordingly.","PeriodicalId":253890,"journal":{"name":"1ST VAN LANG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HERITAGE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE PROCEEDING, 2021: VanLang-HeriTech, 2021","volume":"341 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134477610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In SPIF process, product quality is highly dependent on hardness and surface roughness of the tool. In the current, at National Key Laboratory of Digital Control and System Engineering (DCSELAB), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, there are many studies in order to improve surface quality but no one reached the desired. The highlight of this paper is improvement and fabrication tool for enhancement of surface quality using fractional factorial experimental design. The tool tip made from a ball in ball bearing, which is made from OL100Cr2, with roughness less than 0.125 µm, hardness 61÷65 HRC, welded to the handle which machined by turning. In this paper, a 24–l fractional factorial design (FFD) is used to optimize four factors: tool diameter Dp (mm), spindle rotation speed n (rev/min), size of the incremental step-down Δz (mm) and feed rate Fxy (mm/min). Experiments applied on two type of tool: ball and hemisphere tip and replicated three times. Totally, there are 48 experiments and the regression is generated for each of tip type.","PeriodicalId":253890,"journal":{"name":"1ST VAN LANG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HERITAGE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE PROCEEDING, 2021: VanLang-HeriTech, 2021","volume":"517 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123099801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Single-column structure (or “Soko Tunggal”) used in some historic Javanese mosques as the expression of religious and cultural symbolism, in modern times, is often considered as not efficient, not strong enough, or even not essential. The paper presents an argument that a single-column possesses advantages as good as the four-column structure. “Soko Tunggal” represents the “alpha causa prima”, or God as the only divine power, the central premise in Islam which is manifested through mosque architecture. The study employs a mix-research methodology to study cultural symbolism’s significance by applying topological analysis and structural efficiency using the structural analysis method and their correlation, to show the correlation between cultural symbolism and structural efficiency. There is no conflict between these two elements. The paper contributes to strengthening our knowledge in cultural symbolism discourse in the structural aspect of architecture, and understanding that tangible efficiency is not in conflict with the intangible cultural symbolic values.","PeriodicalId":253890,"journal":{"name":"1ST VAN LANG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HERITAGE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE PROCEEDING, 2021: VanLang-HeriTech, 2021","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131040037","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper’s focus is to assists designers in encouraging all members on playgrounds to participate in the space by defining relationships between designs and adults and children’s uses. The article describes the results of theoretical research on playground design in public urban spaces in Vietnam, typically Ho Chi Minh City, and on-site observations and interviews with users. The results of the research are that the urban people’s concept of playground designs do not consider separately landscape, nature, playing equipment; and playground design effects both adults and children’s usage and relationships. Thereby, it is necessary to well-equip multi-player devices for children and seating for adults, regional characteristics should be included in designs, incorporating play equipment and landscape designs into the planning process as well as. The article provides a new way for future designed playgrounds which contribute effectively to children’s development and community’s relationships.","PeriodicalId":253890,"journal":{"name":"1ST VAN LANG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HERITAGE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE PROCEEDING, 2021: VanLang-HeriTech, 2021","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126632293","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In place of the conventional fire alarm monitoring system, an Internet of Things (IoT)fire sensor nodes were designed to monitor each room’s temperature and analog CO level and deploy through point to point technique. An IoT fire alarm monitoring system using a wireless sensor network was developed through which real-time data of temperature and analog CO level were obtained from the fire sensor nodes. The IoT fire sensor nodes were deployed from rooms LB384 to LB387. Each room has a node, and each node has its designated Internet Protocol (IP) address. The data can be easily obtained and accessed through the cloud web server, and each IoT fire sensor node will send a notification to the user of the room through the IoT ThingSpeak monitoring widget. The IoT fire alarm monitoring system reduced the installation time and did not require significant building renovations based on the assessment. With the advancement of IoT, fire detection could then be realized such that people within buildings can have a good understanding of the safety of their living environment.","PeriodicalId":253890,"journal":{"name":"1ST VAN LANG INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HERITAGE AND TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE PROCEEDING, 2021: VanLang-HeriTech, 2021","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132989380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
