MateCat ’s built-in Translation Memory, MyMemory, is constructed using a crowdsourcing system and is in constant development by the post-edited translations that are uploaded to the server from the huge number of MateCat ’s users. The current study carries out a translation of a literary text where the translation is implemented in two phases: Initial Translation and Follow-up Translation. Next, a comparison between the outputs of the two phases was drawn to observe the error rate after the two trials. Homage of Switzerland , a short story written by Ernest Hemmingway, was imported into MateCat to evaluate the Arabic output translation. The study concludes that despite the technological revolution in computer-aided translation tools, there is a considerable sum of linguistic errors on the Arabic language's lexical, grammatical, and morphological levels. The study also asserts that, despite the enormous efforts paid to develop computer programs to facilitate the translation tasks, human intervention is still a must.","PeriodicalId":250727,"journal":{"name":"مجلة البحث العلمي في الآداب","volume":"48 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140526855","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research follows - by holding that balance - the descriptive approach, using the rules and foundations of the modern lexical industry. The objectives of this balancing study are summed up in standing on the advantages of the two dictionaries, with reference to the points that can be remedied in the upcoming updates on them, and the new projects in this field. This research consists - after the introduction - of a theoretical preface that deals with the limits of the subject of study, which is the historical dictionary, its definitions, and the most important international and Arab attempts to manufacture such a dictionary, ending with the development of stages of the two lexicons under study. This is followed by the applied side of the research. There is a balance between the two lexicons from various aspects, including: the purpose of developing the dictionary, the sources it relied on in collecting its material, how it chooses its lexical units, the treatment of these units, and finally how it is arranged externally and internally. The research ends with presenting the most important findings of the study .","PeriodicalId":250727,"journal":{"name":"مجلة البحث العلمي في الآداب","volume":"10 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140521270","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For England as an outside force, Ireland is a female country and the Irish are dirty people, a female race that must be rescued by marriage to the civilized male England. To affect this marriage, many measures and laws were to be taken mercilessly, hoping that such despotic measures would make Ireland and Irish people completely subjugated and effeminized. Oppression and effeminization were not just a British trade, they also hatched from inside. The higher circles of Irish society (Politicians and Church) were, if not more sinning like Lear, they were, at least, as sinning as sinned against. The poor Irish people were falling as victims between the ferocious fangs of colonial England and the fierce claws of politicians and the Irish authoritative institutions. This paper will count on O’Faolain’s No Country for Young Men to show the various techniques of both the internal and the external process of oppression and effeminization for Ireland. The focus will be on how the colonized Irish politicians and religious men, who lived the misery of colonialism, ironically turned to be worse than the British colonizer.","PeriodicalId":250727,"journal":{"name":"مجلة البحث العلمي في الآداب","volume":"31 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140518182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The narrative, according to this meaning, builds various conceptions of this reference world and goes beyond the fixed image. This in particular contributes new conceptions to man’s awareness which enrich his human experience and deepens his understanding and existence in this world through thinking of common human experiences between him and other people. To achieve that objective, the implicit agreement between the narrator and the receiver is such that what is narrated is imagined. At the same time, both the narrator and the receiver pretend that the narrative did really take place. However, we find that many narrative texts ignore this aspect. A farmer’s character, an engineer’s character or a doctor’s character speaks a language that has no connection with its level or the nature of the role played by it in the novel. On the contrary, we find that other examples employ the lexicon as a tool for disabling disbelief. The study will be concerned with examining the lexicon in some samples of Omani novels and role which the lexicon plays in deceiving us into believing in the reality of the narrative in three novels which are “The Shadow of Hermaphroditus” by","PeriodicalId":250727,"journal":{"name":"مجلة البحث العلمي في الآداب","volume":"137 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140521542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
