This paper describes the application of an evolutionary algorithm for multiobjective optimization in the traction chain (TC) of pure EV. In this study, the optimisation algorithm is based on the Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA-II) and the fitness function is defined so as to minimize the electric vehicle cost (EVC), the electric vehicle weight (EVW) and the losses in the electric vehicle (EVL). Also, in this study, different requirements are considered as constraints like the efficiency of the permanent magnets engine, the number of conductor in the slots, the winding temperature…The simulation results show the effectiveness of the approach and reduction in EVC, EVW and EVL while ensuring that the electric vehicle performance is not sacrificed.","PeriodicalId":246250,"journal":{"name":"Int. This paper proposed a PV/Diesel hybrid power generation system suitable for banking. The study is based on simulation and optimization of hybrid system of a bank located in two different locations [Nsukka Enugu State-which covers the southern part of the nation and Kaura Kaduna State-covering the northern part of the nation]. The Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables HOMER software was used for the design of the proposed stand-alone PV/Diesel power system. A control system for the Hybrid PV-Diesel Energy System with Battery Storage was developed to coordinate when power should be generated by PV panels and when it should be generated by diesel generator. From the simulation results, 46% decrease in each pollutant is noticed in Nsukka for a 46% renewable penetration into the existing diesel only power system; while in Kaura, 55% decrease in each pollutant is noticed for a 55% renewable penetration into the existing diesel only power system. This shows that the more % of renewable penetration into the diesel only system, the more decrease in pollutant emission. The results also show that the two locations Nsukka and Kaura have the same excess electricity of 45kWh/yr showing that the system is optimally sized. This excess electricity of power supply is guaranteed in the location simulated in order to give room for future Bank expansion. A numerical method based on the projection method, which divides the problem into three stages. At the first stage it is assumed that the transfer of momentum occurs only by convection and diffusion. Intermediate velocity field is solved by method of fractional steps. At the second stage, three-dimensional Poisson equation is solved by the Fourier method in combination with tridiagonal matrix method (Thomas algorithm). Finally at the third stage it is expected that the transfer is only due to the pressure gradient. To increase the order of approximation compact scheme was used. The proposed active compensation technique is based in a hybrid series active filter using adaptive Tabu search (ATS) algorithm in the conventional Sinusoidal Fryze voltage (SFV) control technique. Optimization of the conventional Sinusoidal Fryze voltage control technique has been done using adaptive tabu search algorithm. This paper discusses about the comparative performances of conventional Sinusoidal Fryze voltage control strategy and ATS-optimized controllers. ATS algorithm has been used to obtain the optimum value of Kp and Ki. Analysis of the hybrid series active power filter system under non linear load condition and its impact on the performance of the controllers is evaluated. Effectiveness of the hybrid series active power filter to provide harmonic damping is demonstrated by MATLAB/Simulink results. Total harmonic distortion (THD) demonstrates the practical viability of the controller for hybrid series active power filter to provide harmonic isolation of non-linear loads and to comply with IEEE 519 recommended harmonic standards.","PeriodicalId":246250,"journal":{"name":"Int. FACTS controller cannot only increase the power transmission capacity without installing new transmission lines, but they can also enhance voltage profile and reduce transmission loss in power system. Two types of FACTS devices namely, thyristor-controlled series capacitor TCSC and thyristor-controlled phase shifter TCPS are considered in this paper. A standard IEEE 30-bus test system with multiple TCSC and TCPS devices is used for two different objective functions to validate the performance of the proposed method. The simulation results demonstrates the ability of the ABC to produce better optimal solutions compared to particle swarm optimization with inertia weight approach PSOIWA and real coded genetic algorithm RGA.","PeriodicalId":246250,"journal":{"name":"Int. The results of calculations for the Unified Electric Power System of Russia are presented and analyzed. The second part of the paper deals with the application of Prony method to identification of the Volterra equations in the two-sector models of developing systems. The problem of choosing optimal parameters involves determining the diameters of new heat pipelines, searching for the methods to reconstruct existing network sections, and choosing the pressure heads of pumping stations and their sites. To solve this problem the authors suggest a dynamic programming method for optimization of branched networks and a multiloop optimization method for calculation of loop networks, both being developed in the theory of hydraulic circuits. The paper presents new versions of algorithms for the implementation of these methods and describes their capabilities. These algorithms are implemented in the software package SOSNA-M. This software was developed on the basis of a methodological approach created to develop algorithms and methods for optimization of heat supply system parameters, flexibly control the computational process, optimize heat supply system parameters on a feasible set of equipment and improve the types of reconstruction of the existing components.","PeriodicalId":246250,"journal":{"name":"Int. The formation of new principles of functioning in this field is conditioned by the market mechanisms emerging due to the interaction between different owners of heat economy facilities within the single system. Today heat energy markets are represented by a great number of enterprises with different types of ownership that operate heat energy sources and heat networks. It is obvious that such a situation explicitly causes conflicts of interests among the heat energy market participants and unbalances the responsibility for production reliability, heat energy supply efficiency and its quality among the participants of centralized heat supply (heat sources – heat networks - consumers). A reasonable solution to this problem can make it possible to determine optimal conditions for operation of the developing heat energy market, and their implementation can increase technical, economic and energy efficiency of heat energy. These problems are solved by using the methods of hydraulic circuit theory, nonlinear dynamic programming and two level programming. The studies performed allowed the creation of mathematical models and methods for optimal construction of efficient heat supply systems, organization of their operation that ensure the realization of full energy saving potential in the field of heat supply to consumers, taking into account the interests of all participants of the heat energy market.","PeriodicalId":246250,"journal":{"name":"Int.
